It’s Thursday, and I am just getting around to making my card for the MOJO Monday layout challenge. You know I love a challenge, but it’s been a very busy week.
Today’s layout comes from Carole Burrage:

The minute I saw this layout, I knew I wanted to play around with the Artistic Etchings stamp set. This was my opportunity to really do something cool with all the vintage images in this set. I envisioned tattered edges, lots of layers, intentional ink stains, bulky ribbons…vintage, vintage, vintage! OK, so I never got there, but I really like the way this turned out:
I played around with a piece of vanilla cardstock I had sitting around (I knew in advance I would want to use black, gray and white. BUT, once I got a peek of the vanilla against the black and gray, I was in love. I like when things turn out different from what I planned.
Helpful tip:
- Use the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack to punch even holes for brads. I love the look of a paper-pierced project. The piercing pack can also be used, though, to lineup the brads on a project. To create the three evenly placed brads at the base of my project, I punched every other hole on the grid of one sheet.
Stamp set: Artistic Etchings Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla Ink: Basic Black, Basic Gray Accessories: Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin’ Pierce Mat, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL, 3/16″ Neutrals Brads, Bitty Banners Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

This has to be your best card yet. I love, love, live it.
Wow! Thank you! I appreciate your compliment.
It’s the leaning tower of Eiffel! LOL…. This card is really amazing. I love all the little details that are almost lost in the simplicity. Tres bien!
Thanks, Pam! Funny…I said “oh! The tower is already leaning” while I was making it…before realizing this isn’t THAT tower. 🙂
Wow! Wonderful card!!!
Thanks, Donna! I was quite happy with the end result of this one – not where I thought I would end up but still happy with it.
Very strong card…really like the color combo!
Thanks, Carol. I was quite shocked by how good the black and gray looked on the vanilla. Thanks for your feedback.

Nice card Brian, you caught my eye with the Eiffel Tower as I was there not long ago. This colour combo is one of my favourites but don’t use it enough….note to self…lol
Sometimes I look at the stamps and wonder “What would I possible do with that?” You made the stamp come to life and this is a great card. Thank you for sharing
