A couple of weeks ago, I was water coloring a snowy scene when I realized the PERFECT color for accenting a snowy ground is … wait for it … Pool Party. That’s right, Pool Party is the perfect blend of icy winter and snowy goodness. Beautiful – and I can’t even take an ounce of credit for that!
This card started with an experiment with the Big Shot and ended with a project worthy of an easel. I’ve not seen vellum card stock run through the embossing folders, so I wanted to see how it would look. I tried it, I liked it. Here’s my card, along with step-by-step instructions so you can make this, too:

1. I placed a piece of Stampin’ Up’s vellum card stock into the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot.
2. I tapped a sponge dauber into my Pool Party stamp pad and then lightly tapped all the embossed vellum elements. This adds a beautiful hint of blue to the snowflakes.
3. With no way to adhere the vellum card stock to the Whisper White card stock, I searched for some brads that might work – that’s when I realized that the Neutrals Brads come with white brads. Perfect! I stacked the vellum on the white and punched four holes with my paper piercing tool. I added the brads and then glued the white card stock to the Pool Party card stock.
4. I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. I also punched a piece of Pool Party with the same punch, snipped it in the middle and then added the pieces to the ends of the punched sentiment – a beautiful way to add a little color to the image.
