Punch Identification: A Circle Circus Story

How many times have you stamped a myriad of Circle Circus images on scrap paper and then been stuck as to which punch you needed to finish the desired look?

OK, so you might have a ring with all your punched out images so you can size everything up at a moment’s notice. You might have a chart in your drawer that lists them all out. Well, thanks to an idea from Allie Giel (one of my newest downlines and the “Queen of Circle Circus”), I now have a reference chart just inside my Circle Circus stamp box that gives me everything I need. It’s a brilliant and easy way to categorize the punches needed for a particular set.  Here’s what I’ve created:

I just set the chart inside the cover of my stamp set for quick and easy reference.

How simple and easy is that?  I really love this idea and will be organizing my other sets in a similar fashion.

Why do I have that paper stuffed into my wood mount set?  Perhaps you missed my blog with that suggestion?  Check it out here.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  1. Love that terrific tip! Circle Circus is one of my favorite sets also and I was distressed when folks started suggesting that it go on the retirement list earlier this year. Thanks so much for sharing your organizational hints. I think they are a result of your “accountant mind” to put everything in order.

  2. Great idea to go with that set! I made a template for all my punches by just punching on card stock and labeling them so when can’t decide which punch to use or need to know which size to punch some image I grab it and lay on the image or on the area needing the punch. I really need to update it mostly because it is getting worn…so thanks for making me think of that and I think I will do that this evening! You are so helpful!

  3. This is a great idea! thanks.

  9. Dear Brian, Thanks for that terrific tip on what punches to use with Circle Circus and how to store the info. It’s kind of a nice coincidence, because just a couple of days ago, I was browsing through the catalog, and came across Circle Circus, and was thinking how long it seems that I’ve had that set and hardly ever use it. I never even thoughtabout being able to use the scallop punch with that one circle, not to mention any of the rest of them. Thanks for theidea, and maybe now I’ll get some inspiration to pull the set out. Sincerely, Kathy Liu ________________________________
