Day Three, Dude!

Today is the third (and final) consecutive post featuring cards made with the Dude, You’re Welcome! kit.  I don’t want to overdo it, you know?  I mean, I love the challenge of really classing up the Dude, You’re Welcome! stamps, but I don’t ever want to be predictable.  Pickle.  Bet you weren’t expecting that, huh?

On Tuesday, I showed how a man could make a beautiful card for a woman using the kit.  Yesterday, I showed how a man could make a masculine (but still beautiful) card with the kit.  Today, I’m throwing all the rules out the window and showing you how you can use his kit to make a gorgeous AND VERY SIMPLE card: www.stampwithbrian.com - Dude, You're Welcome

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

  • Use your Designer Series Paper.  It doesn’t get any simpler than this!  You don’t have to use strips or scraps of DSP.  This 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of paper from Sunshine & Sprinkles makes a perfect background for this card – not much else needed.
  • Change the colors, change the look.  I used Pacific Point as the base for this card and the ink for the sentiment.  The card would take on a new look if the Pacific Point were switched out for any of the other colors in the palette.  Can you imagine how girly this card would be with Melon Mambo or how soft it would be with Daffodil Delight?
  • Clip it!  The Spring Catalog introduces us to Cute Clips, adorable paper clips in different shapes.  I added a heart clip from the Elements collection of Cute Clips to the sentiment, and it makes all the difference, don’t you think?

Stamp sets:  Dude, You’re Welcome!  Papers:  Pacific Point, Sprinkles & Sunshine Designer Series Paper, Whisper White  Inks:  Pacific Point  Accessories:  Cute Clips (Elements), Stampin’ Dimensionals

  1. Well sorry Brian but you ARE predictable coz once again you’ve made me laugh out loud at my computer! As usual, I love your design – so simple but the colours give it zing and the heart clip gives it the perfect amount of ‘aaaaah’ factor! Oh yes, and how did you know ‘Pickle’ was one of my nicknames?? Crazy!

    • ME TOO! I actually “lol’d” at my works computer at tea break this morning. I would read your blog for the humour even if I didn’t love your cards (which I do btw) 😀

  2. That dsp is very versatile! Look at the options for this card alone with this strip. I love it! The clip is a nice new Urban touch! Love!

  3. Well Brian, this is really, really pretty, this stamp looks beautiful in blue and the paper gives this very simple stamp, the wow factor it needs. I love the little heart clip, I got some from your last product share and they are absolutely darling, all of them. You did a great job using this kit.

  4. Wonderful CAS card, Brian! Anyone would love to receive a beautiful card like this! Kudos, oh talented one! ;D

  5. This set is cute. Would love to see someone use a grunge techinque with it just for fun! Hint!

  8. I love seeing CAS cards and this one is just simply too cute! Thanks Brian because this allows me to have a foundation for a new creation! 🙂

  9. Don’t laugh at me Brian but that card, with those gorgeous bright colors, has inspired in me an idea for a great quilt. I printed out the photo of the card and will take it to the fabric store when I’m ready to work on it. Funny but quilts inspire my color combinations for cards and now cards are inspiring color combo’s for quilts. Pretty cool if you ask me.
