I’ve been a busy little bee for the past week. The first round product shares have been mailed out (if you listen carefully, you might still hear the cheers of joy resounding from my fungeon). Then, the swatch books became top priority. I was prepared and organized (and had some assistance from a laborer who like me to call her Mom) the first batch of these books were mailed out yesterday evening. Want proof? This is the first batch – and there are 13 books in each envelope. Yee gads!
Tuesday night was Ronald McDonald House night. Pam, Anne and I went to the house to host craft time for the families who were there. Some repeats from last month, some new. As tired as I was, I am grateful I was able to spend this time with my friends and these families. Truly a wonderful experience. Here are the cards Pam designed for the event using Storybook Friends:
And here’s a quick shot of the three of us as the evening wrapped up (you can’t really tell from this photo, but Pam was wearing a Quatrefancy blouse. Very ahead of trends, that Pam! I just look goofy, and Anne looks as sweet as she is.
So, when it was time to sit down and make a card to share with you, I knew I needed to make something simple and quick, but I also knew you wouldn’t accept shoddy and thrown together. That’s why I reached for Million & One, a new stamp set from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog. WIth a gorgeous script like this, it’s difficult to make an ugly card. I embossed it in Tempting Turquoise on black, added a couple of layers and then scored three lines in the background before adding three Basic Black candy dots.
Stamp Sets: Million and One Papers: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise Accessories: Stampin’ Dimensionals, Neutrals Candy Dots, Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Emboss Powder
Swatch books. There’s still time to order up a set of Designer Series Paper swatch books. Mary Fish calls them a must have. My Mom really wants you to get a set. Bandit says, “Meow” and rolls over to look really cute for you. Click here to buy them now! I’m also ready to close off my product shares, so if you want a brilliant amount of paper and a sample of the goodies in the new catalog, sign up now for a seat in my next share.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Brian

What lovely colours! I like that look Brian. Also lovely to see your smiling face above (not goofy at all!) looks like you all had fun xx
That combination of Black and Tempting Turquoise is stunning!! I love the scored lines topped with the Candy Dots, this little gems will be in my July order, I need to wait till then due to the fact that I must budget myself and pace myself, otherwise…..
I think that what you guys do for the Ronald Mc.Donald house is amazing, I bet those families and specially the kids, enjoy every single minute that you are there. Thank you for the picture of Pam and Anne and you, Brian. You NEVER look goofy, you always look happy.
Christmas came early for me this year ! My box of fun stuff by the name of Product Shares arrived yesterday ! What fun !!! Everything was packaged so neatly . Love it ! That gathered ribbon in the new In Colors is cute cute and the colors are just like you said Brian ….Ice creamy !! And on top of all of that I was Hostess in our club this month and made out like (excuse me a certain cat ) a bandit ! I should do one of those SU Haul videos !!
Oh and btw….nice card , Brian !!
Love the card!! Nice use of colors and space! I’m appreciating mats that are larger than the run of the mill 1/4″ spacing. Handsome!! Just like you Sweetness!:)
Phew, I bet you are exhausted. I’m worn out just reading about all of your productivity.
Cute Cards! The black and turquoise are striking together. Happy Stampin’!
Brian, Thanks your card was simple but beautiful. Mary
I Love the look of the Turquoise and the Black together!! So elegant!! You don’t have a goofy face you always have a Happy Face!!
Black and Turquoise was a really HOT combo in the late 50’s and I still love it. Funny how you don’t remember things until something pokes at your brain. I absolutely love the card and the color combo and I think the candy dots are going to end up being my favorite “new” item from the new catalog.
Got my 1st new catalog order yesterday and am so excited I can’t decide which “bundle” to use first! Even my UPS guy was excited for me as when he delivered it he said “O.K. Grace, I won’t expect to see you out of the house for a few weeks now”!
Brian – what a great photo of you at the Ronald McDonald house and what a fantastic cause to volunteer for. I, like many others, are very grateful for people like you, Anne and Pam. Having something to think of, even for a short time, during serious illness is such a blessing. And, by the way, I think you look very handsome in that photo. Thanks for sharing.

Love your cards for the RM house! Also really loving the color combo you used for the Thanks card. The best thing of all though was the AWSOME box that came in the mail yesterday!! I love love love my swatch books, papers, buttons, candy dots, and more!!! I can see now that I will be ordering more papers 🙂 They certainly look much better in person than they do in the catalog.
You sure have been busy! Great work on all you are doing, especially at Ronald McDonald House. Charity work is the most rewarding aspect of what we love to do, stamping. Now, I must anxiously await the mailman and my DSP swatches! Can’t wait!

Boy, am I late today to post. Another exceptional card! Turquoise just pops right off the card. I received all the product shares and DSP swatches yesterday and let me say I am over the moon! Everything is super duper fantastic! Anyone who participated will not be disappointed. This was a major time consuming project to tackle. My hat off to Brian and of course let us not forget MOM! She has just as much invested time in this as well. So, Brian and Mom you deserve to stand on the top podium and receive your gold medals! What a great team! Also Brian, your volunteer work at RMH is wonderful. Such cute cards and very nice picture.
Oh dear, a thousand pardons…….Bandit should be right up there with you too!
As soon as I saw this card, I had to know you stamped turquoise on black… tempting turquoise embossing powder … Great! Another thing to add to the old wishlist. 😉
Got my swatch books in the mail today! Yay! Thanks Brian…you did a wonderful job!
simply elegant!
My Swatch books arrived last week while I was out of town, but I have them now. And I am *SO* glad to have them. I just *LOVE* being able to see the DSP up close and personal. This is helping me to decide which packages of DSP to order. I know they’ll come in handy when I try to decide what papers to use when I’m making cards. They’ll also be helpful in deciding which MDS discs and downloads to order.
I’m anxiously looking forward to the Swatch books for the Holiday Mini. But I know that I’ll have to wait until August to get those. Phooey!
Thanks so much, Brian!!!
