Big News – It’s Your Birthday for FabFri46

Fab Friday launches a great color challenge today – woo hoo!  Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana – such bright and summery colors.  I wanted to tie these color together in a new and unique way – lucky for me Draw the Line recently arrived.  Draw the Line, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana – they are all I needed to create a piece of notebook paper.  🙂  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Creating a piece of Notebook Paper.  Draw the Line is a new photopolymer stamp set in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  While it seems so plain and simple, there are so many things you can do with these designs.  I used the strip of four lines to create a large piece of notebook paper.  I used my Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up one line and stamp it vertically on a piece of Whisper White paper.  I inked it again and stamped it really close to the first line.  After I cleaned my stamp, I stamped the Coastal Cabana vertical lines.  Because the photopolymer stamp is completely clear, it was easy to line up the repeating lines.
  • You’re Sketchy!  What goes better on a piece of notebook paper than some sketches and doodled words?  You certainly didn’t want me to stamp out my high school math homework, right?  I love Big News, one of the new stamps from the catalog – I think this is the third time I’ve used it.  The sentiment and candle are both from this awesome set – big, bold words for every occasion.
  • Avoid a Toothache.  This color combination consists of three super-bright colors.  If not paired with white or black, the colors could be sticky sweet (almost enough to make your teeth hurt).  I wanted to avoid a toothache, so I added white and black components to tone down the brightness.

Stamp Sets:  Good News, Draw the Line  Papers:  Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White  Inks:  Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Memento Tuxedo Black, Blendabilities (Daffodil Delight)  Accessories:  Stampin’ Dimensionals
