WOW – You Did It!

Some people deserve a kudos – whether they just graduated from college, earned a much-needed job promotion or survived an entire weekend with their nephews, these people have certainly earned a gorgeous card with heartfelt congratulations.  Woo hoo!  Here’s today’s card:

Epic Alphabet, Bravo, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Having Fun with Epic Alphabet.  I just love the big, bold letters in the Epic Alphabet photopolymer set.  While there’s no need to color in the striped letters, it was fun to do so.  I used my Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake Blendabilities to color in the letters – I alternated between the three shades of Calpyso Coral and the Crumb Cake shade.  So fun, so easy.  You’ll be the envy of your neighborhood when you’ve collected all of the Blendabilities (get them all starting tomorrow!)
  • Color Combination.  I love when good color combinations happen.  I stumbled upon this one when I couldn’t decide whether to pair Calypso Coral with Crumb Cake or with Basic Black.  I had all three colors pulled out with my Color Coach, and **voila!** I saw that they all three looked wonderful together.  Why pick one when you can have two?  If you like this color combination, feel free to save this image for future reference:Color Inspiration #4, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Little Banners.  I was finished with this card – some layers of card stock and some words.  I had moved on to another card, but this one kept calling me back.  “Brian, you seem to have forgotten something…” it would say from the corner of my desk.  I ignored the pleas until it started mocking me (this card was very demanding, and I was taking it personally).  Defiantly, I picked it back up and stared at it for a while.  I thought it would be fun to add two little banners.  I added one in the top left and one in the bottom right.  As such, the sentiment is bracketed by two little banners just as you would read it. (banner, wow, you did it, banner).

  7. Like it ! The coloring of the letters is akin to your snipping talents . I like these letters …just haven`t seen them used anywhere yet . I will look at them again since I am getting an order together. Great sentiment !

  8. Glad you listened to your project today, Brian. It’s great. It’s amazing what a few little finishing touches will do!

  9. Love the color palette first of all … and I am liking the SU polymer stamps more and more. (Just had a great experience with the Settin’ Sail set last night!) I think you made a good choice coloring the “WOW” the way you did. I should start listening to my cards … they might be calling out to me and I’ve just not been listening! 😉

  10. Hi Brian:

You’ve probed again that the beauty is in the details. The blendabilities colored letters with the little banners made all the difference in the world with this card. Great job and I’m so excited to know there is someone else who has cards that “yell” at them! LOL

    • Oops type……….not probed, PROVED! DUH

      • Oops ………….not type, typo. O.K. I’m going back to bed for an hour, getting up and starting this day over again. Obviously my finger/eye coordination isn’t working thus far today.

  11. WOW…..I like it! Again not thinking of coloring in the Epic Alphabet. I am accumulating quite a lengthy list of things to do. Thanks for your inspiration!
