Merry Everything for The Paper Players

This week, Nance Leedy is hosting a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge for The Paper Players – pick any three across, down or diagonally.  So much fun!  I needed to make a “thank you” card yesterday, so I chose the bottom three – Patterned Paper, Ribbon and Purple.  Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

Merry Everything, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP211 And here’s the tic-tac-toe table for this week’s challenge:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Lining it Up.  The stamped image here is the combination of two stamps – both from Merry Everything.  I used my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker to outline the “to/from” stamp and stamped it on Whisper White.  I then stamped “Thankful for You” in Blackberry Bliss, using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to line it up perfectly inside the borders.  It touches the edges a bit, but it looks good to me.
  • Punching it Out.  The sentiment is punched out with the Note Tag punch – just as it was meant to be.  I then punched the end of a slightly-less-than-2″ strip of Blackberry Bliss with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  The Note Tag punch out fits nicely over the hole left from the tag topper.  I then trimmed the bottom of the strip and rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder.Project Life Corner Rounder, Scalloped Tag Topper punch, Note Tag punch, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Wrapping it Up and Backing it Up.  The challenge calls for ribbon, but I chose to not create a bow for a very clean look.  I wrapped the 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon three times around the Blackberry Bliss band, adding a nice graphic look to this design.  Since I popped up the Designer Series Paper Stack panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I backed the DSP with a piece of card stock to add sturdiness.
