Amazing You for PPA240

Super-clean.  Super-simple.  That’s how I’d describe the bright and cheery card I’m sharing with you today.  This week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge offers a great sketch, and I needed to make a Congratulations card, so “yippee!”  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Amazing You.  Let’s skip right past the beautiful array of stars and the lovely colors for now.  I want to talk about this sentiment.  Do you recognize it?  You already know I love sentiments, so you shouldn’t be surprised to know I pieced these together from a stamp set.  I’ll tell you.  I used You’re Wonderful, another photopolymer not-in-the-catalog set that was released last year.  If you missed it, you should definitely check it out – perfect for coloring with Blendabilities or an Aqua Painter, but the sentiments are so flexible.  Literally.  Because the word “amazing” was photopolymer, I could straighten it out a bit on the block to remove the curve that’s present in the set.  🙂
• Color Combination.  There are so many ways to create fun and interesting color combinations (I shared a video about that here).  For this card, I pulled my color combination directly from Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper – and I couldn’t be happier with this combination of colors.  If you like them, too, feel free to save this:
• Change it Up.  My starting point for this card was the dotted pattern of paper from Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper.  I knew I wanted to use these colors, and I knew I’d position those stars along this stripped of dotted paper (it’s the one that’s on the bottom of the left-most piece in the picture below).  In the end, though, the pattern on the paper was just too busy for me to sit back and smile.  I cropped a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock (I was getting warmer).  When I remember the Painted Blooms had a piece of all-Daffodil paper, I knew I’d use that.  So happy with the change.
