Thanks Sunshine

I usually keep great track of my stamps – I know which sets I have and the images that are found in each.  As I took a quick pass through Pinterest last week, I saw a “thanks” sentiment that I loved!  I was certain it wasn’t a Stampin’ Up! set, but I still investigated further.  Lo and behold!  The “thanks” is from the Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit – and I have it!  Yippee Doodle Dee!  To celebrate the lovely weather we’ve been having lately, I made this card:Crazy About You, Hip Hip Hooray Kit, Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Stamp Order.  Sometimes I like to point out the obvious – but just because it’s obvious to me doesn’t mean it’s obvious to everyone, so…my Hip Hip Hooray stamp is a red rubber clear mount stamp, and my Crazy About You stamp is a photopolymer.  To make it easy to line everything up, I stamped the red rubber stamp first (it didn’t matter if it was crooked because I’d eventually punch it out).  The photopolymer sentiment could be lined up easily without a Stamp-a-ma-Jig.
  • Oval vs. Circle.  The patterns on this page of Sweet Dreams Designer Series Papers are all circles.  To match the circular suns, I could have cropped the sentiment with circle punches, but I opted to use the Extra-Large Oval punch.  Why?  I wanted to mix-up the images a bit.  The sentiment is still cropped with a rounded punch, but it adds a bit of diversity to the card front.  Because I didn’t want to add a matting around the sentiment, I stamped the words on a Whisper White Note Card.  The Note Cards are sturdier and firm enough to position on a cardfront without bending.
  • Sweet, Sweet Paper.  While Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper is presented in the Occasions Catalog as a baby-themed paper, there’s nothing particularly “baby” about it.  The images are perfect for almost any occasion.  I mostly love the suns (shown above) and the gorgeous page with clouds (see it here).  So soft, so cheery!Crazy About You, Hip Hip Hooray Kit, Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
