Stampin’ Up!’s Mother’s Love

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Mother’s Love is a perfect stamp set to add to your collection.  This set is offered in clear mount, wood mount and photopolymer.  Yippee!  I am excited to share a clean-and-simple project and some tips for getting the most out of your wood mount stamps.  Here’s my card:

Mother's Love, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Mother's Day Card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Mother’s Love.  This is the second week in a row that I’ve used this super-cool flower from Mother’s Love.  You can see my first post here.  I just love the bold and sketchy flower – so many opportunities to combine it with sentiments to create thank you, thinking of you or other cards.  I chose to use the sentiment from this set for today’s card.
  • Simple Layout.  You already know how much I love a simple layout, right?  I can always find something to appreciate in an intentionally clean project.  For this card, I let the white space do its work – the image, sentiment and a little bit of color are [very important] visitors on the white card front.  The colors pop on the white base because they are recalled on the border underneath the white panel.
  • Stamp-a-ma-Jig Templates.  I love my wood mount stamps, and I love my Stamp-a-ma-Jig and use it often to make sure my images are exactly where I want them.  You can see my Stamp-a-ma-Jig video here.  The Stamp-a-ma-Jig comes with plastic sheets – you stamp your image (temporarily) on them and then line it all up.  You can create permanent templates with StazOn and Window Sheets – just toss them in the stamp case for the next time you need them.  As I was preparing for a class this past week, I made a few templates with card stock vellum (not as clear but same effect as the Window Sheets):Mother's Love, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  1. Great card and clever IDE with the vellum templates!

  2. Beautiful colors! A signature Brian King card:)

  3. Love the simplicity!

  4. Pretty card and I like your envie liner w/those polka dots . I like your listing the tips with Bullet Points ….makes it easy to read ! Also need to use Calypso Coral soon because I forgot how pretty it is for Spring ! Great SAMJ ideas !!

  5. Beautifully Clean and Simple, this colors are so soft and perfect for mom. I have templates like this for all my wood stamps and keep them in their respective cases, the Vellum is transparent enough to see through.
    Have a great weekend.

  6. What a great idea Brian. I use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig all the time for both my wood stamps and clear mount. Instead of constantly washing the plastic sheet that comes with it, it would be so much easier to stamp a piece of vellum and keep the template with the stamp case. Another “why didn’t I think of that” thought. LOL

As you know, I really love CAS cards, especially white on white ones. This one may not be white on white but I think it’s lovely and the layering is just wonderful. Thanks for making me smile while learning something new each day.

  7. Beautiful card Brian. The colors you chose work so well together. One question, does this card come with matching flowers? Great job Brian.

  8. Thanks for another great tip! I will definitely be making some templates.
I appreciate your tips, creativity and inspiration everyday. Thanks again!
