NEW VIDEO – Aqua Painters: The Basics of Watercoloring

Last week, I shared a clean and simple card that I water colored with soft and sweet colors.  Here’s the card I shared (you can click on the picture to see the original post):

  1. Well Brian, you just used my favorite items for water coloring…..SU inks and the aqua painter. Since SU inks are water based, they are just perfect for water color, they blend beautifully and, when this happens, the colors change a bit and become softer, then you can easily add shading by applying more ink to the areas where you need it.
I’m so glad you did this video so everybody can see that it’s so easy to achieve a beautiful water color look on your cards using this technique.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tips and video. 🙂

  2. I think the specifics that you brought out will be helpful to someone that wants to try water coloring . It is fun and the more you practice the easier it gets . Good good video !

  3. Thank you, Brian. I have these and never used them because Blendies came in ( and out). I’m going to try this out!

  4. Hi Brian:

I really love my Aqua painters! The best part about them is that you can use one color, then just wipe the tips on a piece of scrap paper and go into another color. No run to the sink to wash the tips, no changing tips, no having to have one for every color. So quick and easy to use and they really do make for easy “painting” with a very professional look when you are done. Thanks for the video, I just love when I can bring you right into my craft room via a video.

  5. Loved the video Brian! For a beginner like me, it was very good and easy to follow. Love the technical part about drying!

  6. Thank-you, thank-you for doing this video! I purchased a set of Aqua painters several weeks ago and just love them. I had written you about them and you encouraged me to give them a try. I haven’t stopped using them! They are wonderful and worth the price. As you said watercoloring IS a fun technique and it’s also very forgiving.

    • Sharon – I’m so glad you gave them a try and am happy you are enjoying them. Aqua Painters open up a whole new world of artistry. Thanks for letting everyone else know how sound my advice was. 🙂

  7. Super cool Bri (I can call you Bri… right?)!!! I have this product and FORGOT how awesome it is. Have not seen the 3-shades-of-color-in-one-flower technique, thank you for sharing!
