You’re Amazing with Watercolor Wishes

Since the day my Watercolor Wishes Card Kit arrived in the mail, I’ve been itching to use one of the many gorgeous sentiments inside.  I decided to pair this “You’re Amazing” sentiment with this black-and-white piece of Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper that I colored to create a one-of-a-kind card.  Here’s the project I created:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Coloring on Designer Series Paper.  Black and white Designer Series Papers have been popular of the past several catalogs.  Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper is the newest addition to this family of awesome papers.  These papers are perfect for stamping or coloring or just serving as a backdrop.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to randomly fill in some of the hearts in the background, and I love how it turned out.  If you missed my video on Customizing Designer Series Papers, check it out here.Watercolor Wishes Card Kit, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Create Your Own Color Combinations by Coloring on Designer Series Paper
  • Watercolor Wishes.  This sentiment is from a photopolymer stamp set that’s only sold as a part of the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.  I’ll be honest with you when I say that it’s worth the purchase.  Not only are these sentiments incredible and beautiful, but the kit is a real winner, too!  You can make lots of awesome cards and still have this great stamp set for all of your other projects.  You can get a better glimpse of the stamp set on page 80 of the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog.  Here’s a peak of the contents of the kit – click on the picture below to see more pictures (and a video) in my online store:

  • Colors.  My color combination for this card was inspired by the combination of colors found in a retired Designer Series Paper – Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper.  While the colors aren’t exact, they are similar, and I think the bright yellow and pale blue work perfectly together to support the bright pink.
