New Video: Creating a Window Pane

Yesterday, I shared a SPOOKY window to showcase some new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog.  If you missed that project, please check it out here.  Today, I’ve created a video to show you how I made the quick-and-easy window for that card.  Here’s my video:

As I stated in the video, this is a great way to make a quick-and-easy window frame, but you are really going to want to beautiful Thinlits (I think I called them Fr-f-thinlits in the video) when the Holiday Catalog is released – but this trick should get you through for the time being.  🙂

Yesterday I shared a sneak peek at the stamp set used in this project and promised to give you a better look at this paper.  I just love the patterns and colors in this Happy Hauntings Designer Series Paper, don’t you?

I used the small stars for the project I shared with you(the paper is the left-most one in the above picture).  My favorite piece in this pack, though, is a paisley design with little ghost faces (the right-most paper in the above picture).  How cute is this?

And here’s another look at yesterday’s card – I’m showing you the envelope flap that’s also covered with the Basic Black and Very Vanilla stars piece of this Happy Hauntings Designer Series Paper:

I could see the video and had to pout a bit as you were going through the catalog. So not fair! I have to have two catalogs – one to drool on and turn the pages down and another to be able to actually look at without any marks and goobers so I can see the order # and the prices. Of course with Ted (Tactical Explosive Device) the basset hound, where no paper is safe around him, I almost need three copies!

Love this card. So fun and I don’t even do Halloween but I might have to have a go at this using some older Halloween papers. Punching out those squares is really nifty and makes the window. Of course mine would have to have a little basset drool on the actual window section to go with my windows at home. The spider webs are a given at my house! I am rambling, I think I am tired. anyway, loved the card and the video!

  29. Brian, Brian, Brian – you are SUCH a tease! LOL Loved the mini tutorial……………………………..Hugs to you.

  37. Thanks, Brian! Love the card and the video! I couldn’t see it, but didn’t want to post that, ’cause I thought it was just me. Thanks for letting us know, so we could come back and watch!

  38. You are so sooo funny! Love the card and great idea for the window.

  39. Brian, Thank you for sharing this technique. However, I am confused a little…did you punch the 1″ squares and place them on the black card stock, then punch again for placement reasons?

  40. That.Is.Genius! And you are hysterical! Thanks for the smiles and the tips!

  41. Now why didn’t I think of that. Thanks Brian and this idea could also be used for bigger windows using bigger square punches too. Once again many thanks for the idea.

  42. you are just to stinkin’ funny!! loved the video!!!

  43. I see a ring! Congratulations Brian.
