Flurry of Wishes for PPA264

I’ve been looking for a reason to ink up Flurry of Wishes – a wonderfully wintery stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s upcoming Holiday Catalog.  This week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge gave me the inspiration I needed.  Yippee!  Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Flurry of Wishes Bundle.  I’m excited to offer a sneak peek at one of my favorite bundles from Stampin’ Up!’s upcoming Holiday Catalog.  Flurry of Wishes is a photopolymer stamp set that pairs perfectly with the new Snow Flurry punch.  Oh, what fun!  The punch gives you a two-for-one with two snowflakes that come on one stamp – perfectly lined up every time!  The largest snowflake also pairs with the Flower Medallion punch.  Yippee!  Not only are these lacy snowflakes beautiful, but the sentiments in the stamp set are pretty awesome.

  • Stamping Off.  To create a variety of shades and textures with three colors, I stamped some images in their fully inked up glory and stamped off several of the images once on scrap paper to give a lighter version of their fully inked self.  If you missed my video about the joys of stamping off, you can see it here.
  • Color Inspiration.  Lost Lagoon was a really big color in last year’s Designer Series Papers for the Holidays.  I pulled some of the green from this gorgeous In Color by pairing it with Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron in these snowflakes.   Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon, Mint Macaron

Stamp Sets:  Flurry of Wishes  Papers:  Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, Thick Whisper White  Inks:  Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon, Mint Macaron  Accessories:  2-1/2″ Circle punch, Circles Collection Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to The Pals Paper Arts to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!

    Hugs Frenchie,

  11. Love this card! I wasn’t going to buy this stamp set, now it’s on my have to have list.

  12. Love this card! Can you put the dimensions for your panels? You make the most awesome cards! Thanks

    • I don’t typically add the dimensions because I often “cut away at pieces” until they are the length I want – no standard dimensions there. These three panels are each 1″ thick. I hope that helps.

  13. Beautiful!

  14. No time to tell you how absolutely, perfectly beautiful your card for today is! My catty just arrived and I need to go into seclusion with it so when I drool all over it people won’t see me. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! LOL

  16. Hi Brian! I get your emails and I am usually a lurker, not commenting on how I love your designs and videos. But I have to say that today I wanted to let you know how I value what you do. I really love the clean, design and the colors of today’s card. I may have to CASE this one, if that is OK with you. I direct friends and customers to your sight because of your vision in creating and color choices.
    A GREAT BIG “THANK YOU”!!!

Cool card! I love the colors and the subtle stamping off for the lighter colors. Did you sponge in some background color or is the really light areas just stamped off twice? The effect is so soft and subtle. I really like it. The sentiment is really great and works perfectly on here. Very cool! Off to look at my catalog to check out the bundle and that sentiment! I have a friend who adores those colors and snowflakes. I think she really would love this card! Thanks for sharing it with us!

  27. Great card Brian, you used one of my favorite bundles from the new Holiday catalog. BTW, she whispered, I’m so saving that picture of you with the holiday catalog, it makes me smile.

  28. Sooo soft and pretty!

  29. I love the colours – would not thought of Pear Pizzazz – it works so well, will be remembering that

  30. I love these banners. The layering of colors give them so much depth and the white background just makes it all pop. Truly a beautiful card.
