I’m thrilled to be hopping along with the Crazy Crafters, Kylie Bertucci’s amazing team of stampers in Australia, for their November Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. What an honor to be asked!
Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for November. This month we are excited to show off our “most used stamp sets”. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. You may just be starting the blog hop here or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
Holly Jolly Greetings definitely qualifies as my most used stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog. Most of my favorite cards feature the amazing words from this set. Here’s my card for the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Holly Jolly Greetings. There’s a reason the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set was selected early-on as my favorite item in Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog. This stamp set has truly been my go-to stamp this Holiday Season. For this card, I matched up a variety of sayings and stamped them in rows along this 4″ x 4″ panel of Crumb Cake. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and Post It Tape to make sure everything was lined up perfectly.
- Black Band. I have been actively working on this card for weeks. I’d pick it up in between projects and move things around to get it right. The “thing” that brought it all together is the 1/2″ black band that runs through the circle. I cut two 1/2″ strips of Basic Black – one fit perfectly across the card front. I embossed the “believe” sentiment on the other strip and cropped it with a Circles Collection Framelit. I positioned the circle exactly where I wanted it along the black band. Cool effect, huh?
- Color Combination. Every time I struggle with making a neutral color combination work, I hear Lydia Fiedler say, “Add some black to the mix.” She’s right every time. For this card, I used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Basic Black. The neutral background really helps the white embossed deer and sentiment to pop. If you like this combination of colors, too, feel free to save this:
Stamp Sets: Holly Jolly Greetings, Jolly Christmas Papers: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Basic Black Inks: Soft Suede Accessories: White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, 2-1/2″ Circle punch, Circles Collection Framelits, Stamp–a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals
