A Sneak Peek at Bear Hugs for PPA281

This week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge gave me the perfect inspiration to share some new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Occasions Catalog – Bear Hugs stamp set (with coordinating Framelits Dies), Suite Saying stamp set (amazing sentiments in this set!), and a gorgeous print from Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack.  With all that to share, my card is clean, simple and sweet.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Introducing Bear Hugs.  I’ll admit – I wasn’t initially swept away by the Bear Hugs stamp set when I first saw it.  It wasn’t on my list, but I needed to use up some Stampin’ Rewards on a recent demonstrator order, so I added it in.  Why not?  Remember how I told you a while back that it’s good to have everything you might need?  It’s true!  As I sat down to make a card with this sketch, the ONLY thing I could envision for that peek-a-boo circle was this crazy bear.  Glad I had it!  I’m pretty sure you’ll see more of him here as we move through this amazing catalog.

  • Sweet Sentiments.  The sentiment I created for this peek-a-boo bear is a combination of sentiments from two stamp sets:  one is in the Occasions Catalog, and the other is in the Annual Catalog.  While we generally say “Peek-a-boo – I see you” I thought “Peek-a-boo – I love you” was stinkin’ cute.  Don’t you think so?  Maybe we should petition to change that phrase – or maybe I’ll trademark it so that you have to pay me a nickel every time you say it.  Hmmm.

  • Sweet Louise.  This card was created with super-sweet colors – Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Whisper White – that remind me so much of my dear friend Louise Sharp, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Australia.  Louise lives in pink and often creates gorgeous, soft projects – her go-to colors are Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake.  While I used Blushing Bride, I think my card is soft and sweet like many of hers.  If you like this combination, too, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up! I hope you’ll pop over to the Pals Paper Arts challenge site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
