An idea popped into my head this past weekend that I am excited to share with you. The unique thing about this idea is that it originally popped into my head in March of 2014. I created a fun, floral card for you then. Today, I’m using smiley faces from Hello (a stamp set that’s available during Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Sale-a-Bration). Same concept with different colors and images. Yippee! Here’s my card:
And here’s the card I shared with you a couple of years ago (you can click on the picture to see my original post):
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Hello – Still Available. Were you so focused on the gorgeously scripted “hello” and coordinating sentiments that you overlooked the fun images in Hello? Hello is one of three items in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Sale-a-Bration brochure that were offered for a limited time (through February 15). With excess inventory on these items, Stampin’ Up! is holding them over a bit longer. As such, you can still pick up Hello with a $50 order. How cool is that!? I’m not sure how much longer this item will be available, so don’t wait too much longer. 🙂
- On the Curve. I have patience for a lot of things, but I don’t have enough time in my life to perfectly line up a bunch of happy faces. Purposefully adding the faces (each puched with a 1/2″ Circle punch and adhered with teeny-tiny Stampin’ Dimensionals from one of my Paper Pumpkin kits) on a curve makes it a lot easier to position these dear faces on the card. If you’re all about easy, then “on the curve” might be a good option for you.
- ROYGBIV. There are so many options for creating a super-fun rainbow with Stampin’ Up!’s colors. In my original card, I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant. Two years later, I used Real Red, Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, Pacific Point, Blackberry Bliss and Perfect Plum. No matter what combination of colors you choose (in almost any family of colors), you are sure to create a fun and happy card.
Stamp Sets: Hello, Greatest Greetings Papers: Cucumber Crush, Basic Black, Whisper White, Thick Whisper White Inks: Archival Basic Black, Real Red, Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, Pacific Point, Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum Accessories: 1/2″ Circle punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
STILL AVAILABLE (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST). Here are the items that were scheduled to go away on February 15 but are (at the time I went to sleep before publishing) still available:
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

Hi Brian! You know how much I love CAS cards and this is the best one yet, well – except for the flower one in 2014! LOL It’s bright, it’s cheery, it’s colorful! Well, let’s face it – it beats any Hallmark by a mile. The perfect touch is when you put the smiles on dimensionals. There is no way a person could receive this beauty and not smile. Thanks for giving me my first smile of the day! Hugs!
Awww…I love your comments, Grace. Thanks. I’m so happy you like it! THAT makes my day.
What a fun, cheery card! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us all!
Thanks, Michelle. The colors and image are super-cheery – I just paired them together. 🙂
What a super cute ‘happy’ card Brian! I was thinking rainbows when I created my card for my blog today too -something so cheery about seeing one, whether real or on a card.
Thanks, Joanne! I do love the ROYBGIV colors.
What a bright and fun card! Love the simplicity too.
Thanks, Sharon. The white space is just as important on this card as the colored dots. Glad you see that, too. 🙂
Thats sooo cute!! 😀
I’d love to send this one to my pal Lorraine right now. X
Thanks, Vicki! <3
Both adorable of course – thanks again for sharing your many wonderful ideas. See you in April.

Thanks, Katrina. I was midway through CASING it before I realized what I was doing. Ha!
It did make me smile!
Woo hoo! Goal accomplished. 🙂
I have this cute stamp set ,but haven`t used it yet . You did it up so super cute with the rainbow colors . I got this set because I love the Smiley faces and you just brought a smile to my face !!
Awww, thanks, Sonny. I appreciate your kind words.
Precious, Brian! I needed those smiles today. Remember flowers, also and I like them both. Really like the curve idea.
Thanks, Di. It makes it easier for me to line them all up. 🙂
I just discovered your videos and have been watching them nonstop! Is Stampin Up your main job? I hardly have time to do my favorite thing; make cards? I love your daily videos and watch them if I don’t have time to go into my studio.
I’ll email you directly, Mary, but thanks! Just wait until you get to my Mom’s videos. She’s great! 🙂
Brian, what is on the curve?
Hi Karen, I just use the phrase to describe that the happy faces are positioned on a curve rather than in a straight line. Much easier to keep them on the curve than to line them up perfectly.
What a beautiful happy card!
Thanks, Barbara! It makes me happy, so I’m glad it makes you happy. 🙂
I absolutely adore this card! It really did make me smile 🙂
Thanks, Tiffany! Goal accomplished.
what a fun card, it really made me smile too! I know someone who really needs a lot of smiles right now, so I’m going to CASE you too 😉 thanks for sharing your creativity!
Have fun with it! Thanks, Adeline! I hope it’s super appreciated.
Just saw your card! love it! When I use the little letters cut out or alphabet stickers for scrapbooking I also use “the curve” or sometimes “the wiggle” then no one knows I can’t line them up!
Yay! Such a great way to not have to get it perfect. 🙂
