SNEAK PEEK: Love & Affection for FMS234

Don’t you just love a sneak peek?  You probably love seeing new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016-2017 Annual Catalog as much as I love sharing them.  This week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge – a super-simple sketch by Jen Mitchell – gave me the perfect reason to share a new stamp set (Love & Affection) and Specialty Designer Series Paper (Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper). Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for Jen’s challenge that inspired my card:

How simple is that sketch?  Dress it up or keep it simple – this is a great starting point for any card!

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Introducing Love & Affection.  Day after day, it seems that I show you cards with flowers and tell you that I don’t really make “flower cards.”  Since putting that into universe, I seem to find myself making more flower cards than I think I do.  It’s all good!  The new catalog is filled with great flower sets – and Love & Affection is one of them.  The flowers are perfect for collage-style stamping (seemingly random-stamped images that are actually perfectly placed), but the sentiments are what got me right in my heart.  All three of these sentiments are GREAT – and adorably scripted.  In fact, the sentiment is the only “stamping” on my project above.  Check out this set!Love & Affection, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  With so many beautiful and bright colors and so many sweet and fun flowers, this paper needs to be on your wish list.  One added color makes it over-the-top cool, though – Copper embossing.  Two of the pages feature shiny copper images that are spectacular.  The paper pairs perfectly with this stamp set, but it will also work so well with many others.  I love it!Love & Affection, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FMS234
  • Color Combination.  It seems that Night of Navy is making a huge comeback in this upcoming catalog.  It’s everywhere – and it’s gorgeous in every place it’s showcased.  There are many bright colors in this Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder) that are perfectly offset by the Night of Navy background and further grounded by the pops of Crumb Cake.  Love it!Stampin' Up!
