Memories in the Making with GDP035

I’ve been playing around with Project Life for the past couple of weeks – and I’ve really had fun with it.  As I am planning to host my Facebook Live party with our International Project Life by Stampin’ Up! group, I’ve been laying out pictures and creating fun pages.  I find that it’s just another form of story-telling, and I do love to tell a good story.

As I approached this Project Life challenge for Global Design Project, though, I couldn’t help but make a super-sweet, super-simple card with this gorgeously watercolor washed card from the Memories in the Making Card Collection.  Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Memories in the Making.  The Memories in the Making Project Life Card Collection is filled with sweet colors and fun, watercolor washed images.  There’s such a wonderful variety of cards in this collection – from cards with fun images to cards with words and journaling lines.  I used one of the large cards with three broad bands of soft color for my project.  You can click on the picture below to see pictures of all the cards in my online store:

  • Confetti Celebration and a Splash of Fun.  Confetti Celebration is one of the amazing, new stamp sets that will be available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  I just love bold, fun congratulatory sentiments – and these are wonderful.  Go ahead and add them to your wishlist now.  I stamped the “hooray” with Whisper White Craft Ink on Dapper Denim cardstock and sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  After heating it with my heat tool, I punch the sentiment out with my 2″ Circle punch.  I added a splash of Dapper Denim behind the circle with Gorgeous Grunge (inked up with Dapper Denim ink and stamped off once before stamping onto the card).

  • Color Combination.  We are all familiar with Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Pink Pirouette, right?  The new addition to this card (and the shining star of the card, as well) is Dapper Denim, an amazing new blue color that’s part of Stampin’ Up!’s 2016-2018 In Colors.  The bold blue helps to balance all the sweet, soft colors in the Project Life card, don’t you think?  If you like this combination of colors, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up!
