My Hero

I’m a lucky guy!  I receive lots of beautiful cards in the mail – some are to thank me, congratulate me or just say hi.  While I’m not able to photograph and share all of them, I love them all the same.  Well, I really, really love the ones that are filled with cash – the ones without cash are just OK.  Today, I want to share a sweet-and-simple card I received from one of my team members, Jackie Beers.  Jackie is one of my Atlanta-area team members, so she was able to hand me this card in person.  Bonus!  Here’s Jackie’s card:

My Hero, Stampin' Up!, by Jackie BeersJackie created her card on a Whisper White Note Card.  The base of this card is 3-1/2″ x 5″.

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • My Hero.  My Hero is this year’s Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set – $3 from the sale of each of these sets goes to the amazing charity.  Jackie is a retired police officer, which makes her MY hero.  She won this set during our monthly call – I host trivia questions about the catalogs or products during our calls.  She immediately put it to good use to make this sweet card. The stamp set is featured on the inside of the back cover of the printed catalog and pairs well with so many of the punches and dies that are new this year.  Fun!

  • Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.  Would you ever expect that a paper called Floral Boutique would make a perfect backdrop for a hero badge?  It might not sound like it, but it sure is a great fit!  The Night of Navy and Whisper White Designer Series Paper has a variety of patterns – and not all of them are floral.  That’s the case with most Designer Series Papers (themed on one side and flexible on the other).  This color scheme lends itself well to masculine projects with this “floral” themed paper.
