Fruit Stand is So Sweet

Today’s project is a super-sweet, fun card that showcases three great new products in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Annual Catalog – the Fruit Stand stamp set, the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies.  Here’s my simple card that pulls these products together:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Fruit Stand.  As soon as Fruit Stand arrived in the mail, I was excited to create a background of fun fruits.  You might think I’d start with the peaches in the set (I’m a Georgian, and we are the peach state), but I was in a “red” mood when I sat down to create so I first reached for the strawberries.  I left enough room between each of the strawberries to add the “thanks so much” from the same set – fun.  Here’s a peek at the new Two-Step Stampin’ set:

  • Two-Step Stampin’.  So, what is Two-Step Stampin’?  This set, like so many others in Stampin’ Up!’s catalog, presents multiple images that are designed to be stamped on top of each other.  In this set, the pear, peach, strawberry and flowers can be created with an outline image and an image that looks watercolored.  Because the stamps are photopolymer, you can easily see right through them to line them up.  BUT – as you can tell from my card, the images don’t have to be perfectly aligned (gives them an artistic feel, don’t you think?)
  • Fresh Color Combination.  I told you that I started with red – so I was ready to use the strawberries.  To brighten up the Real Red (even more than it already is), I added Cucumber Crush stems and thin frame around the main panel.  I added thin frames of Basic Black to ground the card and pull from the Basic Black “thank you”s.  If you like this combination, too, please save this:Stampin' Up! 3. Wonderful stamp for a beautiful background, Brian. I love this card so much.

  4. Love how that little bit of black sets everything else off nicely.

  5. What a fantastic summer card Brian! It’s so nice to make a card for a friend that is “just because” once in a while. I know I am delighted when I get something unexpected and for no reason in the mail. It’s heart warming to know someone is thinking about you and took the time to let you know. I really like the way you offset the central image and then balanced it off with the sentiment. You have that creative eye and are so very generous to share your creations with all of us. Thank you.

  6. Love how you splashed around the sentiments among the strawberries!

  7. Great card Brian

  8. I don’t see “Thanks so much” in the fruit stamp set……

  9. I’m glad to see Cindy is keeping you on your toes, Brian!! lol It’s a great card today. Nothing is sweeter than freshly picked strawberries from your own patch! Brings back childhood memories.

  10. Love all the stamping you did on this! So bright and fun!
