A Paisley Thanksgiving
I’m thrilled with Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Holiday Catalog – what an amazing selection of products that are sure to make you smile. Since this blog hop is focusing on cutting tools, I created a project that showcases a gorgeous new Thinlits Die (from the Paisley Framelits Dies) – multiple cutouts are set around a Layering Ovals Framelits Dies in beautiful, Fall colors. Here’s my project:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Paisleys & Posies Bundle. You are going to LOVE the new Paisleys & Posies Bundle. While the die I used to create this border around the sentiment is not, in fact, a paisley print, it pairs perfectly with the gorgeous paisley prints and sweet sentiments in the set. Think of all the ways you can use these images in different color combinations to create cards for any occasion! Check out all the amazing products available in this incredible bundle:
- Assembling the cutouts. All eight of these cropped leaves extend from behind the large oval with the beautiful sentiment. It would be difficult to line up all those leaves behind the focal oval – so I didn’t attach them to that oval at all. Instead, I cropped a smaller oval and glue the leaves to that oval. I glued that to the card front and then popped up the larger, sentiment oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals:
- Color Combination for Fall. These three colors scream “Fall” to me – it’s a soft scream and not a loud one (who needs that kind of noise?). It softly screams “Fall”. If you like these colors, too, feel free to save this:
Stamp Sets: Paisleys & Posies Papers: Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Whisper White Inks: Whisper White Craft Ink Accessories: White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Layering Ovals Framelits, Paisley Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

What a modern and cool color combination and I love that little die cut leaf (woo hoo for new products) creating a “wreath” behind the sentiment.
Just so beautiful, Brian. Thanks for sharing how you layered the leaves too–wouldn’t have thought that at all :0) The colors are super and work so well together too.
Great card, Brian. Love those dies.
Really nice card, Brian. Way to go!
I’m a little upset with you…now I HAVE to have that bundle. I love everything about this from the color combo to the wreath effect.
Great card! I love the tip about adding the leaves on an oval first. Thanks!!!
Love the leaves and the color combo….so awesome! (Like you!)
Love how you framed your sentiment with the leaves and alternated the leaf color! Great card!
What an “out of the park” beautiful card Brian. AND the color combination is one I never, ever would have considered until today when I saw it on your blog. I can’t tell you enough times how amazingly talented and artistic you are. I so appreciate all your efforts on our behalf. Thank you.
Great card and love the tip for using a smaller oval underneath……I’ll be using that idea for multiple shapes!

Stunning! I thumbed through the new holiday catty twice and didn’t notice the beautiful framelit you used. Wow, another bundle for the wish list.
WAIT, WHAT? Did a double take on the cropped leaves… just WOW!

Simply stunning… a very handsome card!
Love how you used the die cut to frame your sentiment. Colors do have a nice soft shout out for Fall… which cannot come soon enough for me!!
