SNEAK PEEK: Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack

Amy Lazzell is hosting this week’s sketch challenge at the Pals Paper Arts challenge!  I immediately knew I wanted to feature a sneak peek at Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack when I sat down to create a card for her challenge.  The hard part?  Deciding which beautiful pattern of gorgeous colors I’d showcase.  Here’s my card:

Watercolor Wishes, Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PPA314 And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack.  This 6″ x 6″ stack of papers is the most versatile pack for the Fall seasons.  While the papers are included in a Christmas-themed suite of products, many of the pages are perfect for Autumn and Thanksgiving.  Filled with plaids and textured patterns in Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green (are there more perfect Christmas colors?) and Delightful Dijon and Basic Black (hello, Fall!) – all on a base of Crumb Cake or Whisper White (perfect for ANY season).  I know you’ll love these sweet papers!

  • Coloring White Perfect Accents.  Amy’s sketch includes three elements in the top, right corner of the card.  I could have tried to think of something clever for that corner, but my wide bands of paper left me little room.  Small, black accents in that corner, though, would give me the exact thing I needed to pull black into this card.  I colored a couple of Perfect White Accents with a Black permanent marker and added them to the card.Color Perfect White Accents with a permanent marker, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Color Combination.  I adore the warmth of the colors in this card.  The Basic Black gives an unexpected punch of awesome to these Delightful Dijon.  I added Crumb Cake to the mix to add warmth the rich tones.  If you like this combination of color, too, please save this:Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets:  Watercolor Wishes (stamp set included in the Watercolor Wishes kit)  Papers:  Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla  Inks:  Archival Basic Black  Accessories:  Layering Ovals Framelits, Perfect White Accents, Stampin’ Dimensionals

  3. Love the use of the new DSP. It really puts it in the spotlight. Stunning design and colors. Can’t wait to case it. Thanks Brian.

  4. I love this CAS look and the color combo is great. We all need masculine cards and this would certainly be a nice one to have ready to go. The sketch is so versatile. Your cards are always inspiring. Have a great day.

  5. Good Morning Brian:

I never thought of Thank You cards as possibly being gender specific but this card is definitely perfect for a masculine thank you. I just love it. Now you are going to have me thinking about making gender specific cards for thank you notes. Thanks so much for waking my sleeping brain up! LOL This card is gorgeous – the color palette, the design itself and even the font could not be more perfect.

  6. Love this dsp ! It reminds me of chilly days and flannel shirts ! Plus there are the typical Christmas images . Great paper stack !
Your card is a good one for the guy card and I have a couple in mind .

  7. I do so love neutrals and plaid takes me back to when my daughters were little girls. This card makes me smile. Great job Brian.

  8. Covering the envelopewith matching DSP is always a fun technique.

Manly yes, but I like it too! Ah, do they even still make that soap, Irish Spring or something like that? Anyway, your card gives me the warm fuzzies – we used to have a blanket with almost the same colors when I was a kid. I used to cover up with it to watch TV when I was a tiny tot. It went on picnics with us to spread on the ground and sit on. So, it had a lot of good use and finally fell apart enough my mom threw it away when we moved. So, yes I really like the card for the plaid and the colors you paired with it. Fits the sketch too! Of course the envelope is special too. Love it and THANKS for sharing this with us. I knew I wanted that kit also just for the sentiments if anything!

  10. CAS has never had a bigger impact! Love this!!

  11. Love your card, love the “take” on the CAS, and I absolutely love how your artistic brain works!!

  12. I love your cards. I love the exactness and the detail. I love that this card leans to the masculine as it is and with a color change it can go feminine. (I have trouble with masculine cards – oh, heck, I have trouble with cards, period. ) I love that you share your details like measurements and little hints like coloring pearls to match. (Can you tell I am a novice crafter??) I learn so much lurking blogs. Thank you for being willing to share your knowledge.

  13. totally awesome Brian. exudes warmth & coziness.

  14. This is a really classic card, Brian, with the plaid! Love it in combo with Crumb Cake. It makes me feel like fall is around the corner. Thanks for joining us at the Pals Paper Arts and sharing your classy creation!

  15. Great masculine card. Clean, simple and I love the pop of color with the plaid DSP.
