Peach Pie for GDP#051

I’m a Georgia boy – and we are known for our peaches and peanuts.  I love both.  For this week’s food-themed challenge at the Global Design Project, I reached for a new set – Glamper Camper – to create a sweet card around a teeny-tiny peach pie.  Peach pie and a proper thank you – it doesn’t get more Southern than that, does it?  Here’s my 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:GDP051Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Peach Pie.  Where did I get this itty bitty pie?  It’s found in a new photopolymer stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Holiday Catalog.  It’s certainly not a focal image in the set – the set has 32 stamps.  All of the images center around an adorable camper – with all the “fixins” for lots of holidays and seasons.  You can click on this image to see this set in my online store:

The little pie certainly adorable and looks great cradled between the “h” and the “k” in this sentiment of thanks.  Just as cute as can be.  The font of the sentiment reminds me of an old fashioned ice cream parlor, so the pie is a perfect fit.  Don’t you agree?Me=Grateful, Glamper Camper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  • Peach stripes.  I get it – a peach pie is peachy on the inside, not the outside.  Still, the colors look so wonderful together – and did you question my choice before I let you in on my intentional mistake?  That little pie top just needed to be colored with Peekaboo Peach ink and a Blender Pen.  The striped paper on the background of this card is from Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper (also Peekaboo Peach).  Without ever showing a peach on this card, it certainly has a peachy feel.
  • Peachy Combinations.  Peach pie has a very peaches-and-cream look to it.  Creams and soft peach colors inspired this color combination.  Let’s be honest – everything looks great with Crumb Cake – but Peekaboo Peach looks best with Crumb Cake.  It really softens the tones in this 2016-2018 In Color.  If you like this combination of colors, too, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up! 1. Love it ! Having lived in Georgia for three years I also love peaches and peanuts ! This set has kept me coming back to it because of all the “cuteness” ,but have not gotten it yet . Love your colors !

  2. Delicious. Love how the peach and crumb cake work together!

  3. How do you do it?? What is your process? How do you fit two stamps from two different stamp sets together so brilliantly? Maybe it’s an accountant brain thing? Well, however you do it – I love it! Thanks again for the inspiration – I’m going to go look at my stamps now with my Brian glasses on:-). Have a great week!

  4. Such a “sweet” card today Brian! Unfortunately for me the only time I’ve spent in Georgia was in and out of Atlanta airport when flying for business however, I was lucky enough to have my mother-in-law bring some Georgia peaches to me when I was in South Carolina one time. You are right – they ARE the best! AND so is your card for today – deliciousness for the eyes!

  5. Brian I love how you used the tiny image above the sentiment. What a great tip for all those teeny tiny images. Thanks for the inspiration. hugs

  6. This card is gorgeous! You have such a talent for seeing what’s special in the world. You do it by showcasing papers or itty bitty stamps that no one else thinks to use AND you see what is special in what other people make, too. You always leave such nice comments for people who participate in challenges because you can see what is special about their card. You are uplifting and make the world around you brighter wherever you go. Thank YOU for being you.

  7. Sweet as a $&@# Georgia peach! I love that tiny pie!
