Thank You, Mate & a Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peek

With the excitement of the Product Shares (please check them out here if you missed them) and my video on Friday (it’s here if you missed that one), I forgot about my original plan of dedicating the week after Christmas to Thank You cards.  To make up for the two days I lost, I am giving you THREE cards today. Each of these cards showcases an image from Feeling Sentimental, a really great stamp set from…

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ve been overflowing with thanksgiving for the past couple of weeks.  So much to be thankful for.  Blah, blah, blah.  While I have bounced between other holidays (Christmas and Valentine’s Day made appearances this week), you’ve been listening to my gratitude for way too long.  I know you sigh a deep breath of relief that Thanksgiving has arrived because you think my goings-on will stop.  We’ll see about that. When I sat down to create “the ultimate Thanksgiving…

Just Believe

I want to share the first card I designed for my first workshop when I joined Stamin’ Up! earlier this year. It’s beautiful and simple. I love that workshop guests start by saying, “I CAN’T MAKE THAT” because it makes it really special when I show them how easy it is to make. Here are the quick and easy steps to creating this card: On a scrap piece of card stock, punch a circle with…

A Natural Beauty: Naturals Composition Designer Series Paper

When the current catalog was revealed earlier this year, I was immediately drawn to the Naturals Composition Designer Series Paper. This sturdy, clear embossed 12″x12″ pack of DSP would certainly prove to be a versatile friend for all sorts of great projects. It’s my fault, though, that I’ve only used it once. It was this draining guilt that led me into my craft room to create a project with this paper. Tips, Tricks and Reminders: Use…

Finally…The Peacock Makes His Debut

Several weeks ago I stamped the peacock from World Treasures in the full spectrum of colors and snipped to my heart’s content. Snip, snip, snip, snip, glue, glue. Until yesterday, this poor peacock had been mounted, unmounted and remounted at least 9 times. He sat unmounted on my desk, staring at me for a week or so before I would try again, but nothing made me happy. Too busy, too simple, not bold enough. Here’s…

King of the Jungle

To prepare for the free water color technique class I am hosting on Tuesday, I pulled out my water color paper, water color crayons and Staz On. Zoo Review is a perfect stamp set for a simple, handmade note to a friend – we don’t always have to send cards on holidays, do we? This stamp set is also a perfect stamp set for watercoloring. Zoo Review has been on my “to order” list since…

Just Believe Thank You

My go-to browns are Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake — but not today. Today’s personal challenge: to use a color I don’t normally use. Soft Suede it is…and I’m so glad I did. I put Soft Suede side by side with all of my colors and love the way it looks with Summer Starfruit, one of Stampin’ Up’s new 2012-2013 In Colors. Stamp Set: Just Believe Paper: Soft Suede, Naturals Ivory, Summer Starfruit…

Simple Thank You

It was a long day at work today, so I only had time to make a quick and easy card today! I’ve made a lot of cards lately with my Just Believe stamp set – usually focusing on the stemmed flowers in the set. For today’s card, I repeatedly stamped the floral circle in Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip and topped that with a simple thank you. How easy is that? There’s a simplicity to…
