Peace Within – a PPA Color Challenge (PPA134)

For color inspiration on this card, I turned to The Paper Pals Art Design Team who chose Stampin’ Up!’s Calypso Coral, Baja Breeze and So Saffron for this week’s PPA Color Challenge:

I received a new shipment from Stampin’ Up! yesterday, so I was excited to bust open the box – some for my wonderful new customer, some for wonderful Mom, some for wonderful me. Among other things, Mom ordered Peace Within (a stamp set that is retiring at the end of this month) to perfect her watercoloring skills with her new Aqua Painters. She’ll forgive me (right, Mom?) for opening up her stamp set and using it before it’s delivered to her. The set was perfection with this color combination!
After stamping the image with black Staz On on Stampin’ Up! Watercolor paper, I watercolored the basket, flowers and bird with the three beautiful colors. I blended Baja Breeze and So Saffron inks to add a little green to the flowers and ground, but I technically stayed in the guidelines, right? I mounted the watercolor paper on Calypso Coral card stock, So Saffron polka dot paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack and then Baja Breeze card stock.
If you haven’t watercolored with Stampin’ Up! Stamps, inks and papers, then give it a try! So many options for some beautiful art!
