A Perfectly Preserved Thanks – Sneak Peek

Today’s project features a sneak peek at some Fall products in the upcoming Holiday Catalog, available August 1. The project is ALSO a PALS Paper Arts sketch challenge. That’s two in one! What a bargain!

The PPA139 sketch is designed by Margaret Moody:

With so many rich layers, there are so many possibilities for a beautiful card! When selecting the colors for this card, I stayed with regal Fall colors. Here’s my card:

This stamp set comes with a large canning jar and several fruits and vegetables for a perfect harvest-theme. I set out to place pears and corn on the corners, but they were too “busy” so I have some images stamped and snipped, ready for another project. πŸ™‚

The Holiday Catalog will be published online August 1.  I can’t wait for you to see all the amazing sets, accessories and papers Stampin’ Up! is offering in this catalog.  I’ll be posting more Sneak Peeks over the next week or so.

Helpful tips:

  • Play with shapes.  I recognize that the layout created by Margaret calls for two top-layer circles on the corners of the center piece.  As I played with different shapes and sizes, I decided to place the circles one layer back.  Since I had already glued down my Summer Startfruit card stock, I needed to play around with my punches to get the look I ultimately achieved.  First, I punched the edge of a piece of Early Espresso cardstock with the corner of my 1″ Square Punch.  I placed this piece into my 3/4″ Circle Punch to achieve the “Pac Man” shape that I then added to my card.  While it looks like the circles are underneath the Summer Starfruit, the partial circle is actually lined up beside it.

Check out the other great sketches at Pals Paper Arts.

    • Thanks, Katy! My craft table looks like a battle ground right now. I tried every color in the book until I got to this combination. I am so glad you let me play with your stamp set and framelits last weekend!

    • Thanks, Carol. This means the world to me. At one point, I went too far and had to taper back. My post tomorrow or Monday is about correcting the oversteps. πŸ™‚
