Pals Trick or Treat Blog Hop: PeekaBOO!

Trick-or-Treat! The Peekaboo Frames Bigz L die was practically made for 25 & Counting, a Christmas stamp set.  While designing a Christmas project with this die over the weekend and simultaneously trying to create a project for this Trick or Treat Blog Hop, I had a revelation that rivals the old Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials —  my two worlds collided, and I was left saying, “Hey!  Somebody put these Christmas Peekaboo Frames in my Halloween Project?!”  (just so you can accurately picture this event, I also had my right hand on my hip and tilted my head to the left after I uttered the exclamation).  I realized I was seriosuly limiting the potential of the die.  While it pairs nicely with 25 & Counting, there are so many other ways to use these frames.  Here’s my project: 

While the sentiment boldly says, “Do not open!,” tiny hands will surely flip open the peekaboo frame.  There’s a surprise waiting inside:

As I contemplated the sentiment on the outside of my flip frame, I realized I didn’t have any stamps that gave me exactly what I wanted.  Since the Peekaboo frame has a similar (although larger) shape as the Curly Label punch, I knew I wanted to cut out my sentiment with this punch.  Without hesitation, I turned to MDS. 

THE TRICK:  Did you know that the punches used in MDS2 (lots and lots of punches come with your download of MDS2+) are true to size?  Inside the program, I created a punch with the Curly Label punch and then sized up my words to fit inside.

Once I was happy with the font type and noted that the sentiment fit nicely inside the punch shape, I deleted the punch from the MDS project and printed the words.  Fresh from the printer, I carried the printed words to my craft room and punched a perfectly sized sentiment for the front of my card.
