For You: a Simple Greeting

Sometimes our friends hurt. It’s a simple fact of life. When this happens, we don’t always know what to say to ease their pain, so we sometimes avoid saying anything at all. I made this card for a close friend who is going through a rough spot right now. It doesn’t say “I’m sorry” or “I’m thinking of you” — it’s just a simple card to let her know I care.

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

  • Limit the colors for a simple message. I kept this card to two colors and kept it beautiful and cheerful with soft Primrose Petals and bright Lucky Limeade. I think it says enough without saying too much. These colors play very well with each other – each one is allowed to play its role here.
  • Use your stamps in unique ways.  The green spray of leaves is actually the tree from Thoughts & Prayers.  I masked the base sheet of Whisper White card stock with a sticky note so that the trunk of the tree would not stamp on the base sheet.  I stamped the tree twice this way – once upright on the right side of the page and once upside down on the left side of the page.  It makes for a quite nice addition to the sentiment.

Stamp sets:  Thoughts & Prayers,  Layered Labels  Papers:  Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White  Inks:  Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade  Accessories:  Apothecary Accets Framelits, 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals
