Wedding Wishes

I received several prank calls yesterday. The only response to my always-cheerful greeting was heavy breathing. Who would do that to me? Well, the answer wasn’t too far away. It was glitter.  Glitter subscribes to my blog and was not too happy with yesterday’s post. She was ticked. To make it up to her, I’m using glitter again today. BUT this time, I am using Dazzling Details to create an easy, mess-less detail on my 3″ x 3″ card:stampwithbrian.com.jpg

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

  • All that glitters. I used two lustrous products above that add shimmer without the mess.  The first is brushed silver card stock.  The second is Dazzling Details, which is essentially glitter glue. It comes in a tiny bottle with a long, pointed tip. You just squeeze out the glue and let the gloop (that’s the official word for glittery glue) dry. No dusty residue floating around your craft room.
  • Study your stamp sets. Do you recognize the stamp that plays the lead role in this card? I didn’t think so.  Just the other day I admitted to purchasing Everything Eleanor just for the cool shape of the largest stamp. Nothing else really appealed to me at all.  I went back and studied that set to see if there was something else I could use.  Well, here’s another stamp from this set. I can honestly say I’d never paid attention to this one – even though I mounted the stamp when I got it. The circle punch added to the center of the medallion changes the shape entirely.  I needed a little definition around the outsides of the white card stock, so I sponged a little Basic Gray around the edges.

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Petite Pairs  Inks:  Basic Gray, Basic Black  Paper:  Basic Gray, Brushed Silver, Whisper White, Twitterpated DSP  Accessories: 2-1/2″ Circle punch, 1-3/8″ Circle punch, Dazzling Details, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I’ve enjoyed spending this time with you.

  1. OMG!! Brian, how awful, I’m sorry about Ms. Glitter teasing you like that. Don’t worry to much about it, if she keeps bullying you like that, let me know, I will put a stop to it.
Your card today should please her, it’s beautiful and, you used glitter again. Dazzling Details IS glitter but less messy so, keep using it.
Every morning your blog makes me smile and laugh and, at this early hour of the morning, it’s a great way to start my day.
You have such a great sense of humor, Brian. You are creative and generous because you like to share all of this with us. I’m so darn happy to have found your blog. Keep up the excellent work, it’s really awesome.
    Maria.

  2. Brian,
This card is beautful and elegant – along with the matching envelope. I haven’t seen anyone use the metallic papers in awhile – your card is very refreshing!

  3. Ditto the above post. Lovely, elegant card.
I recently purchased Winter Memories just for the “Warm Winter Wishes” sentiment! Not a fan of the images and will probably never use them but who knows, right? Oh the guilt.
And re Ms Glitter, no worries. I let the air out of her tires.

  4. And sent 10 pizzas to her house.

  5. Mrs. Glitter can be quite devious at times and finds ways to spread her “joy” around.
Your card is just so elegant – I love it.

  6. You Sponge! I’m so proud of you! Love this gray, like a smart flannel suit. Very classy.
Now your next big step is to try embossing folders. We’ll make Shabby Chic out of you YET! 🙂

  7. Elegant card! Stepping out with glitter twice in one week? I feel a video in the works….

  8. I love this card!! The medallion as a frame is so gorgeous and the colors are classy.

  9. I feel like I`ve stepped into “The Brian King Show” this morning . FUNNY ! I agree with all your blog group that this card is elegant and the fact that you overlooked a stamp in that set reminds me of me …I have done that a lot and then I will see somebody use it and it is one of those V-8 slaps to the head. Also I have another item to add to my list to get next..gold brushed and silver brushed card stock . And by the way you think the prank calls from Ms Glitter are bad I had to issue a restraining order on BLACK EMBOSSING POWDER !!! Multiple multiple ring and runs !!!I

  10. Soooo proud of you, Brian!!!! Another fabulous glittery card! Hope the phone calls stop soon…LOL!

  11. Great wedding card Brian! Love the use of dazzing details!
