A New Leaf & DSP Swatch Books

Happy New Year’s Day, my friend!  I am so happy to start the new year, but it’s really just like any other day, right?  I firmly believe it’s important to learn from bad things and then quickly put them behind you – it’s important to turn over a new leaf when things are tough or even when things just need to be a little more exciting.  Like I said yesterday, though, 2012 was extremely good to me.  I’m not running toward 2013 to get away from 2012 – I’m just excited for all the great things I have planned for the year, and I’m thrilled that I will be able to share them with you.

I’m about to pop out of my skin (wouldn’t THAT be gross?) to share my 2013 Spring Catalog DSP Swatch Books with you.  When I received the green light from Stampin’ Up! yesterday, it was like Christmas all over again.  I told you about these swatch books in Saturday’s product shares post, but how interesting is a description without pictures?

I have been dreaming about these swatch books for months – long before I saw the DSP patterns offered in the Spring Catalog.  I knew what I wanted, but I had to play around with different sizes and layouts and methods of assembly to make these ideas happen.  The project allowed the creative artist in me to work closely with the nerdy accountant in me – I measured and scrapped and scored and trimmed until I had what I wanted, and I loved every minute of it!www.stampwithbrian.com - DSP Swatch Books

Here are some highlights:

  • Each set consists of 4 DSP swatch books and 1 DSP paper stack swatch book.
  • Each DSP swatch book measures 3″ x 6-1/2″.  The DSP paper stack swatch book measures 2-1/4″ x 6-1/2″.
  • Each DSP swatch book contains each of 6 patterns, staggered by 1/4″ for easy flipping.  The shortest piece of DSP is 5-1/4″ long.  The longest piece of DSP is 6-1/2″ long.
  • The DSP paper stack swatch book contains each of 12 patterns.  The pages are not staggered.
  • Each swatch book is backed with a coordinating color of card stock.
  • Each swatch book is labeled with the name of the DSP on the front.  Each swatch book is labeled with the name of the DSP, the product number, a list of the colors featured in the DSP and the catalog which features the DSP.
  • Each DSP swatch book is assembled with silver mini-brads

Here’s why you need them:

  • If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator:
    • These swatch books are perfect for showcasing the beautiful DSPs to your party guests and customers.
    • The staggered pages make it very easy for your customers to flip through so they can see both front and back of the DSP.
    • The swatch books are a perfect gift for your party hostesses, your best customers or your hard-working downline members.
  • If you are a hobby stamper:
    • How many times have you needed a DSP to coordinate with a card?  No more flipping through stacks of DSP!  These books are a perfect reference guide for the DSPs while you are creating beautiful projects.
    • The staggered pages make it easy for you to flip through the colors and patterns.
    • The books are small enough to sit at the edge of your desk – they won’t ever get in the way.
    • I’ve listed all the coordinating colors on the back of the books.  Nice!

An addendum to Saturday’s post:  I am offering these DSP swatch books at $12.95  – each with free shipping

What else would it take to convince you to buy these ?  How about a testimonial from the most talented person I know?  She’s held these swatch books in her hands, and she agrees that these little books are ESSENTIAL to any craft room.  But, I’m going to let her tell you:www.stampwithbrian.com - Mom

“I’ve seen them, and I agree these little books are ESSENTIAL to any craft room.  It would mean the world to my son if you bought one (or more) of these books.  More importantly, though, you will be glad you did.  Go for it!”  – Mary (a.k.a. Mom)
