Valentine’s Day One-for-One Swap: Day 3

We’ve got a lot to cover today, so grab your coffee and get settled in.

I Love You

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I just want to let you know that I love you.  I am probably not going to be able to take you out for dinner tonight, but I am grateful each and every day that you take time to sit with me and read all the words I write.  I couldn’t send flowers (the flower shop was “all booked up”), yet you respond each day with your kind words and with your support.  I am so lucky.  Thank you.

Brian’s Stampin’ Clubhouse

In conjunction with Stampin’ Up!’s announcement of a new Hostess Code, I announced a new online stamp club, and I want you to join in.  Check it out here, and please email me at [email protected] to join in.  I don’t want to add undue pressure, but three of your closest friends joined in yesterday, and they really, really, really hope you join in too!  Let’s chat about it!

Brian is a Big Dummy

On Tuesday, I shared Round Two of my Valentine’s Day One-for-One Swaps.  One of the cards I shared was from Sharon Jones in Sulphur, LA.  Sharon is a member of my Stampin’ Team.  Here’s the photo I shared with you:stampwithbrian.com - card swap

When I first received Sharon’s card, I thought it was really beautiful, but I didn’t really “get” the paper towel featured on the front.  I showed it to a couple of friends, and we all said the same thing – “good for her for trying something new!”  I love Sharon’s combination of DSP’s and her antiqued background.  I love the ribbon and sentiment across the front, but I don’t know why the paper towel is there.  WELL, come to find out, Sharon added the paper towel to protect the sentiment during shipment.  It was a part of her packaging.  WHY DID THAT NEVER OCCUR TO ME?!?!

Trying to right a wrong, I reached out to Sharon to get a better photo of her card.  Here’s Sharon’s card in all it’s glory (click here to see the card on Sharon’s blog):stampwithbrian.com - Sharon Jones

Valentine’s Day One-for-One Swap: Day 3

  1. Much better, poor Sharon, and I thought it was TP! 🙂

  2. So happy to find out the paper towel didn’t really belong. I was really scratching my head over this one. It’s really beautiful without that addition!

  3. Honestly….each one of these cards are just great ….It would take too long to list what I like about each one but, there isn`t a card here that I don`t get a creative idea from to use . Thank you Brian for showing them . Gosh….what talented people you have on your blog !! And as far as the club …point me in the right direction I`m headed to The Tree House …will we have to have a secret pass word or handshake ? Do we each have to bring a snack (I`m bringing Jelly Bellys ) Sounds like fun !! Is Bandit our club mascot ???

    • Sonny, The secret password is “Stamp-a-ma-dooly-la-la-whisper-white”. Please don’t tell anyone else, though. They’ll have to sign on to get it. While Bandit is signed on to be our mascot, he’s not allowed in Mrs. Baxter’s treehouse, so we’ll just have pictures of him there. Jelly Bellies are good. I’m bringing barbeque ribs – a great addition to any stamping party.

  4. Oh!!!, it’s finally here!! My sweet Valentine card from Traci Davis!! I love it, I truly do, so much that I’m getting that stamp/die bundle. Love the 5 little hearts in the jar Traci, I have 5 beautiful grandchildren so, this card is double beautiful. This jar looks like glass with the window sheet cut out and all the other elements in this card really come together fantasticly.
Thank you so much for this awesome card!!

  5. What a very different set of cards – they are, as usual, all very lovely. I did love the heart embossed background in Cindie’s card – have tried to find it on the internet (as I would like to use it for a wedding card), but haven’t had much luck. If Cindie could gie me further details I would really appreciate it (but pehaps it is retired or no longer available)?

    • I cheated (like you didn’t all know?) and used a non SU folder by Darice. I got it last year at a small local store. I love it too. The hearts are an SU sizzlit, still available in the current catty on page 188.

      • Thank you for the details of embossing folder – will now have to try and find it on internet – probably have to get in States and have it posted back to UK!! Once again, a lovely card!

  6. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Enjoy the day. Great cards!!!

  7. Once again, the cards are all beautiful and inspiring! I’m traveling so I don’t know which of these swaps are in my mail box, but I’m thrilled to receive any of them. Kudos to all for the beautiful work. Thanks, Brian, for organizing another swap! Can’t wait until the next one!

  8. Yet another batch of beauties Brian! Love them all. They’ve given me lots of ideas for weddings, engagements and anniversaries.

  9. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE! Yet another great round of inspirational creations. A round of applause for another very successful card swap. Such fun! Take a bow Brian, you deserve it!

  10. Happy Valentine’s Day Brian. How does it feel to be Sweetheart to so many different women from so many different places? LOL Enjoy your popularity, you’ve earned it with your blog, that’s for sure.
All the cards are just beautiful. So much talent all in one place.

  11. regarding Sharon’s card…that is too funny. I love Barbara’s card.

  12. These cards are all so beautiful, creative and inspirational …many being very adaptable for various occasions. Sharon’s card “situation” is such an apporpriate fit with your sense of humor, Brian…unintentionally funny, as it is! You are a natural. I looked and that card and didn’t “get it”, either – trying to figure out if it was “towels” or “toilet paper”. Would have LOVED to see Sharons face when she saw the origonal post, Oh My Goodness! This is such a “Happy Place”!!! Happy Valentines Day, everyone!

  13. Beautiful cards! Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Glad Sharon had a picture of the card without the paper towel — I was really curious!

  14. Suzanne…love all the beautiful swirls on your gorgeous card!
Laurie, I got your wonderful card! Love the vintage look, the sentiments and that darling little pin!
Marge, I just love the way you folded the corner showing that gorgeous swirling sentiment!

Traci, wow, those hearts in the jar are gorgeous! I haven’t even used my set like this and now you’ve inspired me!
Samantha, that DSP works perfectly with your envelope of stunning hearts!
Diana, fantastic job with the inchies! Love it!
Cindie, I adore all that beautiful embossing together..wowza!
Carol, love, LOVE the way you made the “U” out of the hexagons with hearts…inspiring!
Carol from NJ, gorgous DP and love the way you did that cute sentiment!
Connie, adored the way you layered the DSP! Totally ROCK!
Barbara, stunning DSP and love that sweet owl in the heart!

  15. Esther Schattschneider

Great job, Stampers! All the swap cards were great! And thanks again to our favorite Valentine, Brian, for showcasing them!
Sharon, when I mail lumpy cards, I often turn them “inside out” with a sticky note that says “mailed inside out to protect embellies”. Sometimes gets a remark or “?” From recipient, but keeps things safe in transit…
    Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
