I’ve been telling you about my product shares for the past several weeks (if you want to know more, please click here). I’ve also told you about my Designer Series Paper Swatch Books, but I haven’t really shown you much. I ran the particulars by Stampin’ Up! Compliance and got approval to show you the books I’ve already made. If you like what you see, you can order them today. Of course, I can’t order a lot of the papers until May 31, but I’m all set up to pull these books together for you as soon as the paper arrives at my front door.
Before we get started, here’s a peek at 6 of the 13 books you’ll receive:

Are you a crafter who loves your Designer Series Paper but who doesn’t love to flip through the catalog to find the Designer Series Paper that coordinates best? Do you rifle through stacks of papers when trying to find that perfect piece? Then, these books are made for you! Here they are, stacked neatly in a tin I keep on my workspace:
Here are some highlights:
- Each set consists of 11 DSP swatch books and 2 Specialty DSP swatch books.
- Each DSP swatch book measures 3″ x 6-1/2″.
- Each DSP swatch book contains each of 6 patterns, staggered by 1/4″ for easy flipping. The shortest piece of DSP is 5-1/4″ long. The longest piece of DSP is 6-1/2″ long.
- Each DSP swatch book is backed with a coordinating color of card stock.
- Each DSP swatch book is labeled with the name of the DSP on the front and is labeled with the name of the DSP, the product number, a list of the colors featured in the DSP and the catalog which features the DSP.
- Each DSP swatch book is assembled with silver mini-brads.
Here’s the front of the Soho Subway DSP swatch book:
And here’s the back of the Polka Dot Parade DSP swatch book:
Why do you have to have these books?
If you are a hobby stamper:
- How many times have you needed a DSP to coordinate with a card? No more flipping through stacks of DSP! These books are a perfect reference guide for the DSPs while you are creating beautiful projects.
- The staggered pages make it easy for you to flip through the colors and patterns.
- The books are small enough to sit at the edge of your desk – they won’t ever get in the way.
- I’ve listed all the coordinating colors on the back of the books. Score!
If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator:
- These swatch books are perfect for showcasing the beautiful DSPs to your party guests and customers.
- The staggered pages make it very easy for your customers to flip through so they can see both front and back of the DSP.
- The swatch books are a perfect gift for your party hostesses, your best customers or your hard-working downline members.

Wow ! How much fun !! I love love love my Swatch Books. I use mine a lot . I bought them the last time you offered them and I am so glad I did . I used mine yesterday because I wasn`t sure what color green was in the DSP that I was using so I could match it for my sentiment …No problem …I just flipped my swatch book over and there it was listed on the back . I thought that these were to be really useful for a demo …but, I am a Hobby stamper and I consider mine as little receipe books as well as a dependable tool to make my card making even more fun !
I forgot to add how helpful it is to have the name of the dsp printed on either Whisper White or Very Vanilla so you know which to use ! I find that to be a plus also …
I’m a UK hobby demo. Would I be able to purchase your swatch books please?
Hi Janet, I would LOVE to sell these books to Canada and overseas, and I am allowed to by Stampin’ Up!’s rules. Unfortunately, though, the customs rules and regulations prevent me from doing so. I’m so sorry! Brian
Love the idea! I have purchased them before and its a GREAT way to know what’s in each packet. Abbie
Brian – you do an absolutely fantastic job putting together the swatch books and they are such a fantastic reference. It must take forever to get all the materials cut, assembled and labeled yet you make it sound like fun. Wish I could be in Atlanta to help you – we could put some good music on and just have fun assembling the swatch books. Teaching Bandit how to staple would also be a huge help don’t you think? LOL
LOL, Grace! I can just picture Bandit doing all that stapling and eventually saying, “Meow! My paw is hurting! Break time!” But, seriously, Brian, these are the best things since Grandma’s apple pie! I absolutely LOVE my swatch books and refer to them time and again for designing my cards…you are a GENIUS! Looking forward to the mailman to come to my mailbox in the near future. Did I say you are a GENIUS? It merits mentioning twice! ;D
Hi Brian, I love your website. I wanted to order the DSP sampler. Where do I send my check. Thank you, it is a great idea. Becky Scogin SU Demonstrator Corpus Christi, Texas Date: Wed, 29 May 2013 09:01:37 +0000 To: [email protected]
You won’t be disappointed! Very neatly put together. Brian does a superb job! I ordered the the complete package of DSP and all his product shares. I can hardly stand it until my mailbox is overflowing with this great offer. Order yours today!
Brilliant!
Love your new swatchbooks Brian! I am a demo myself, but I just know I won’t take the time to make these and you’ve done such a wonderful job. Just placed my order. They are great to have at workshops so my guests can see and feel the papers. Helps get more orders for sure! Thanks for making this available to us. Maybe a ribbon one too? lol (as if you don’t already have enough to do). Take care and have a great day!
These are Fantastic!!! I’ve already ordered mine and can’t wait until they come in!!! Ilove my previous Swatch Books!!!!
I need to ask a stupid question what is swatchbooks? What is the purpose? Any way Thank you Brian I am one up on my Mom received it in the mail today. Thank you again.n
Glad you got the book, Sandi! Hope you’ll enjoy looking through it. Lots of wonderful, new things in there.
The swatch books give a sample of each of the papers in the Designer Series Paper packs. The colors used in each paper are included on the back of the book. This makes it easy for a hobbyist to match up colors and select coordinating papers. It makes it really easy for a demonstrator to pass around samples of paper that customers can flip through to determine which ones they want to buy. Does this help?
I love the idea of the swatch books and so organized for us hobby stampers. For payment, do you take paypal? Will send in my order soon, so need to know about the payment.
Thanks
Janet Keyes
What a fantastic idea. Just ordered mine. Sure will make life easier when trying to squeeze in some stamping time.
I purchased a set from Brian last year and soooo fabulously done!!! Don’t hesitate to jump on his offer!
What a brilliant idea, but you knew that. Having enough paper to last to the next millennium I have vowed to not buy more. But I can’t resist these swatches! Thanks for doing them.
Why oh why did I have to see Soho Subway?……(will dream about it)

I’m ordering a set! They look like the best I’ve ever seen! As an SU Demo myself, I have to ask. How do you get it all done? You are AMAZING! Thank You!
May I purchase a complete set of these without going through paypal? In the past paypal has compromised my bank account. I can send a check and will wait for it to clear for you if that is a solution for you. Thanks you as I await your reply. [email protected]
Cheryl,
Absolutely! Will you please send me your address, and I’ll put you on my list. You can mail a check for $34.95 to Brian King, 1758 Colt Drive, Atlanta GA 30341. Yippee!
Thanks so much!
Brian
Brian I would like to purchase a complete set and prefer not to go through PayPal. I would be happy to send you a check and when it clears, you could send the swatches. Does that work for you?
Just received my order and I LOVE them!! Thanks so much for getting them out so quickly! I know I will use them alot as I always have trouble matching up papers and deciding what to use!! These are perfect and just the right size!!
