Merry Little Christmas Kit

Since I joined Stampin’ Up!, my customers have asked for kits – “We need something that we can put together easily and without a lot of thinking.”  Apparently, not everyone has time to sit in their craft space for hours at a time to design the projects they want to create.  That’s a foreign concept to me.  Anyway, the Holiday Catalog is bursting at the seams with great projects that our (or at least “my”) eyes are trained to skim over.  Today I’m going to share with you a project I made with one of the kits (I added some of my own stuff to it) and then want to share with you some of the other kits available in the catalog.  Oh, but I won’t stop there.  I’m also going to show you how you can earn one of these kits for yourself.

Let’s start with my card that I made with the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit on page 27 of the Holiday Catalog: Wamrth & Wonder, Merry Little Christmas, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit, #132158, $9.95

I love the combination of Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Gumball Green in this kit.  The pieces are perfect for almost any combination you dream up – includes envelopes and accents for 8 cards.  You can even bundle it with the Merry Little Christmas stamp set for a 15% savings.  You almost can’t go wrong with it.

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Kit Pieces.  Here are the components of the kit that included on the card:  the panel of striped DSP at the top of the card, the white tag at the base of the card, the twine, the button, the stamp set (as part of the bundle).
  • Ribbon and Button Placement.  The trunk of this tree is really long and slender, leaving a lot of open space at the base of the tree.  Could there be a more perfect place for a button and ribbon?
  • Highlighting the tag.  After I had everything ready to glue down, I realized the white tag was not showing up well against the white background of the card.  Quick fix – I sponged around the edges of the tag with Coastal Cabana ink.

  1. Brian, I love how you changed the original kit. It looks like a brand new card. When I was working, I relied on kits for making a quick card, but now that I am retired, I love to sit at the craft table and make my own.

  2. Your hours in your craft space definitely pay off! This is stunning.

The little tree with ornaments (perfectly!!) stamped on it looks great Brian, and I like how you tied the baker ‘s twine so the tails peek out from the underside of the button!!! Who knew Coastal Cabana would be such an awesome Christmas-y color??!!

  6. Hi Brian! I am a new demo and a super new blogger. I am always inspired by your art work, thanks so much for sharing!
