I’ve been sharing a lot of square cards this week. Today, my friends, that changes. I didn’t want to get caught in a rut of just making square cards, so today I’ve made a card that’s sqare-ISH. The front of this card measures 5-1/2″ x 6″ – not a perfect square. Look at me! Why would I ever make a card with these odd measurements? Two reasons: (1) because I can and (2) because I wanted to show that I could make an envelope with my new envelope punch board – available September 1.
Look at that giant beauty! When I saw that the single stamp was priced at $9.95, I questioned the pricing, but this stamp is essentially a background stamp. Yippee!
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- 3-D Star. I stamped this star with Night of Navy on Whisper White cardstock. I snipped the star. It’s an easy snipping job – no fussy cutting on this giant beauty. I then scored the star (from point to corresponding crevice – over and over). I folded the insides inward and the points outward and mounted the middle on a stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals. It was a fun experiment and really easy to do.
- Embellished Greeting. After I decided where I would place my star, I formed three swirls with pencil dots that would soon be covered with shiny rhinestones. I mixed up the sizes of the rhinestones to add a little interest to the design.
- Coordinating Envelope. That’s right, I made an envelope for this 5-1/2″ x 6″ card using my envelope punch board. I cut my Designer Series Paper according to the chart on the board, lined up the left edge of the paper on the ruler and scored the edges. I folded it and glued it down. Envelope – done!
