Thank You with a Great Kit

By now, you are tired of hearing me say how excited I am with the components of the kits available in both of Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Well, I have some bad news for you – if you keep reading this blog post, then you are going to hear it again.  Today’s card is made with several components in the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Kit.  While this card could be used as a Thank You card after your receive your pile of Christmas gifts, it could probably be sent any time of the year without looking too Christmas-y.  Here’s my card:Another Thank You Photopolymer, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

  • Finding the Right Balance of Colors.  I love this candy cane stripe paper available in this kit (this is the actual size of each of the pieces included in the kit).  It’s comprised of Real Red, Gumball Green, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.  Because the Coastal Cabana stripe is the most pronounced stripe, I decided to create accents with the green (on the tag) and with red (on the envelope liner).Another Thank You Photopolymer, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Making a Gumball Green Tag.  This tag is another component of the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Kit.  In the kit, though, the tag is white, so I had some work to do to make it green.  I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and the embossed it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I then pulled my Gumball Green ink pad across the tag several times.
  • A Stripe Accent.  While the stripes aren’t exactly the same on the tag as the Designer Series Paper base, I reincorporated the colors of the stripes on the tag.  I trimmed a couple of strips in different sizes and glued them down to the tag.  Once they were glued down, I flipped over the tag and trimmed the edges for a clean look.  Woo hoo!  I added a single candy dot for a special accent.Another Thank You Photopolymer, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
