Twins for FMS 112

When Kim and her husband learned they were going to have their first baby, they were ecstatic!  When they found out they were having twins, they were still ecstatic (but a tiny bit of panic set in).  As soon as they were resigned to the fact that they will simply have to buy two of everything, the REALLY BIG NEWS came – they are having one boy and one girl.  Here’s a card I made for Kim using this week’s Freshly Made Sketches: And here’s this week’s sketch by Jen Brum:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • A Little Ric-Rac.  I’ve been trying to use my Tasteful Trim Bigz L die for some time now.  This baby card gave me the perfect excuse to pair the ric-rac with the images in the Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel.  I cropped the little strips of card stock to the right of the onesies with this die.  They give a little action to the strips and add lots of color.
  • Balance of Color.  The boy onesie is Soft Sky with a So Saffron star.  The coordinating ric-rac features two strips of So Saffron and one of Soft Sky.  The same balance concept is used with the girl’s onsie.  I repeated these colors in the sentiments and added Candy Dots to help balance the color on this card.
  • Baby Tees.  I really love these little onesies and use them frequently.  I don’t use my wheels (although learning to use them is on my bucket list), but I cut this stamp off the wheel and mounted the tees on clear mount cling foam so I could use them as a traditional stamp.

Stamp sets:  Baby Tees (Jumbo Wheel), Sweet Essentials, A Dozen Thoughts  Papers:  Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Smoky Slate, Rose Red, Whisper White  Inks:  Basic Black, Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette  Accessories:  Tasteful Trim Bigz L, Candy Dots (Subtles), Stampin’ Dimensionals

  17. I absolutely LOVE this card for several reasons! I’m a twin! I have a twin brother, Tony. So we are Tonya and Tony and so very different yet the same in other ways. It’s cool being a twin just as your card is just too “cool” as well! I love the colors and the layout is just perfect for this boy/girl twin card! You certainly “delivered” with this layout for a twin baby card! 🙂

  18. This is a simply adorable card. Super job Brian

  19. This is ADORABLE. What a great use of the sketch, and incorporating both the boy and girl! Also, genius idea about turning the wheel into a regular stamp! I have loved the images on this wheel for a long time but don’t really like using wheels. I recently saw a blog post about taking apart the alphabet wheel stamp. So I think I’m totally gonna do that now! 🙂

  20. Nicely done! Love your design.
