Holiday One-for-One Swap: Day 1

I’ve hosted several One-for-One swaps over the past two years.  The response has always been really great, but they seem to be getting bigger and better with time. Wowzers!  My mailbox has been filled to the brim with beautiful, cards covered in Holiday Cheer (and glitter!).  It’s a joy for me to break into these cards and then mail them back out to you – and they are on their way today.  That won’t stop be from giving you a sneak peek at a handful of these gorgeous cards.

In a series of several posts over the next couple of weeks, I will share your cards with everyone.  Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway).  If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment on the card when it debuts here.  That way, your card creator will be sure to see your comments.

The collection of cards I’ll be sharing might not all have current Stampin’ Up! products (although that was requested), but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, techniques.  WIthout any further ado, here is the first batch of your beautiful cards:

Quick note:  The last two cards are actually one card.  To celebrate the fact that the first night of Hanukkah fell on Thanksgiving this year (a once-in-a-lifetime-event), Meredith created a two-sided card.  The front celebrated one event, while the back celebrated the other.  While I could go on and on about some the great cards above and the amazing techniques and precision used by the artists, I wanted to make sure I pointed out Meredith’s double-sided card.

Now, let these artists know how much you appreciate their cards.  Which ones stand out to you?  Did you receive one of these?  If so, please share your thoughts here.

More of these gorgeous cards to come as the week unfolds.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Brian

  1. Beautiful cards everyone! My favorite is the one by Judith Hoffman. 🙂

  2. Wow! Nicely done and it’s also fun to see where these cards how far these cards have traveled! Pretty cool idea that Thanksgiving/Hanukkah card!

  3. Such a wonderful collection of a variety of talent ! I think the Santa one by Diane is so cute ! And Judith`s woven edge card is different . The window on Marge`s card is clever . And that stunning creation of Sonny`s (oh wait, that`s mine ) is wonderful ! Seriously …each and everyone is a winner !!! Thank you, Brian

  4. Oh my goodness!! what a beautiful parade of cards!!! All so lovely and festive. I love the way Sonny used the beautiful Open Sea stamp and paired it with the Joy to the World sentiment. One card that intrigued me is the one from Lisa Poe, as soon as I saw it I notice something familiar but just couldn’t put my finger on it till I studied it a bit more and recognized the Lattice Frame die, how super clever the way it’s cut out in the middle to make room for the image. Thank you to all the wonderful crafters who sent this wonderfully beautiful cards and, of course, thank you Brian for giving us the chance, once again, to share with the world, this craft we love.

  5. What a lovely selection! I love these card swaps. I’m afraid I just had no time to contribute this time 🙁 I look forward to seeing some more great cards.

  6. Janie Owens (Rabun Gap, GA)

  8. Meredith, I love your card, both sides. What a great idea, wish I had thought of it!

Sonny, your card is stunning! The shapes on top of the stylish stripes embossing folder look very classy! To tell you the truth, I’m very impressed with all the cards.

  9. Oh, what fun!!!!!! Thank you for posting my card, Brian !! It made my heart sing!!! There is definitely talent across these blessed United States —– and wholesomeness and goodness in the art of papercrafting.

  10. Meredith, you set the bar with a double sided card! Fab idea and so cute! Lisa, I see washi tape peeking from the inside….love that you “continued” the theme to the inside of the card!
Judith, the braided edge is just gorgeous, and perfect for that swirly, glimmery tree. Diane, I want to reach out and touch the fabric of santa’s suit! Marge, using that Framelit around the cute saying and teeny pine bough was a great idea. And Tammy, thanks for reminding us that we need to have some sympathy cards at this time of year, too. It isn’t always a happy time of year.
Thank you to all for sharing your cards!

  11. Brian, what BEAUITIFUL cards. Thanks for sharing ….
    Hugs frenchie

  12. I can’t pick a favorite, I just can’t! Every one of these cards is amazing. The braided edge of Judith’s card, Lisa’s original use of the BigZ lattice die – just so creative. I loved every single one of these cards. Brian, you have such a talented group of followers and you are such an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful creations.

  14. I love every card! they are so beautiful . A lot of thot and caring went into those cards! They cheered my heart.

  15. Beautiful cards! I love Meredith’s clever card but I think my favourite is Lisa Poe’s card for its obvious visual appeal but also the inspiration factor!

  16. What a beautiful selection of cards. They are all awesome. I love the idea of the two in one. That would work well for those that have a birthday on, or near, a holiday!

  17. Oh my goodness! Judith’s card with the braided weave on the edge in stunning! Totally inspired me to get my templates out! How fun is Meridith’s two sided card! There is so much talent and creativity out there!

  18. I’m like a kid on Christmas morning unwrapping each card in all their glory! Lisa Anderson love the washi tape and glimmer paper. Very easy to mass produce. Sonny, the use of the world for your sentiment. Dianne, all the texture and the distressed look really amps up Santa’s suit. I have looked them all over countless times and marvel in all the talent being displayed. Nicely done ladies. Can’t wait for the next batch of beauties.

  19. Bravo to Brian for hosting yet another one for one swap!! I so love participating and sharing my cards, but there just seems to be so much talent from all the corners of the USA!! Sad to say somehow I did not receive your email, my sister, Camille forwarded a copy of the email to me telling me I’m famous and on the first day even! Thanks again Brian!
