Simple Saturday: Sneak Peek: Cheer Up Buttercup

Today I’m sharing another Sneak Peek of items available in the Occasions Catalog (available for orders January 3) and available during Sale-a-Bration (starting January 28).  Today’s project contains three new items:  a stamp set and framelits from the Occasions Catalog and Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-Bration.  I love all three of these products.  Love, love, love!  Here’s my quick-and-easy card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Easy-to-Layer Framelits.  The Banners Framelits Dies make banners easier than ever.  With a total of six nested banners, the options are endless (well, not really endless – for legal reasons, I guess I should just say there are lots of options).  While the banners layer perfectly centered inside one another, I lined up the right sides of the banners here.  The Whisper White and Pool Party banners are cut from the same die, so they layer perfectly.  I slid one slightly over the other to add a little extra detail to the inside banner.
  • Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper.  Isn’t this Designer Series Paper gorgeous?  Sweet Sorbet, one of the Sale-a-Bration options this year.  The colors are phenomenal, and the patterns range from geometrical and modern to soft and luscious.  I love, love, love this paper.  Did I mention that already?  If not, please know that I love it.
  • Geometrical.  Geometric shapes are really big right now – circles, hexagons, triangles.  Geometrical (aptly named) is a new stamp set in the Occasions Catalog that features these shapes along with some really great sentiments that are written like “Cheer Up Buttercup” here.  The letters, themselves, are geometric shapes.

Stamp sets:  Geometrical  Papers:  Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper  Inks:  Calypso Coral  Accessories:  Banners Framelits Dies, Candy Dots (Pool Party), Stampin’ Dimensionals

  1. Woo! Look at these Banner Layers! Ah and that new Sale a Brations Paper love love! So nice to see a lighter color pallet these days. What a fun layout these banners have provided!

  2. Oh, the colors are sooooo pretty ! Love the sentiment because my mother had the nickname of “Buttercup” for me when I was a little girl . I have to get it all ….love the colors …love the sentiment …love those Framelits !!! Cute card !

  3. Like that you put the banners facing to the left, nice change. I know I usually face them right, habit. This DSP reminds me of Bohemian colors and style. I think of Key West. Call me crazy. I love the sentiment. Soothing card to look at. Been snowing since last night. What better day to bake sugar cookies and the Christmas songs are playing.

  4. Love the card and the crazy paper! I wish SU would get worse instead of better because that is what is happening to my wallet – much, much worse off! You always have the right touch with colors, stamps, accessories, etc. Great combinations…reminds me of early summer and the cool umbrellas on the sand at the beach. Have a great weekend! Nancy B

  5. Oh Brian, I am so darn late posting this comment for your card but I will say it’s great!! I also love the colors, they are so pretty and, in the usual SU style, the CS, DSP, inks and embellishments match to perfection. What a really sweet card.

  6. would love to know the colors that are in that DSP. i’m lovin’ it!
