Love You More for Freshly Made Sketches

Happy Sunday!  Today’s project is bright and cheery love note that incorporates a Sneak Peek of Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog along with a great stamp set and framelits that can be ordered right now.  Woo hoo!  This card is a fresh and vibrant Valentine based on this week’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch.  Here’s my card:

And here’s this week’s Freshly Made Sketch by uber-talented Narelle Farrugia:Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Coastal Cabana.  I’ve become quite addicted to Coastal Cabana, one of the In Colors introduced this year.  I love blue, and I love green.  When the two come together, I’m starstruck.  Don’t jump to conclusions – I’m not cheating on Island Indigo (our relationship is already too close to ever be pulled apart).  Like Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana pairs well with almost any color in the Stampin’ Up! family of colors.  This Designer Series Paper Stack, Fresh Prints, contains great patterns in Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Real Red and Whisper White.  I chose a page that’s just Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.  Drawing on inspiration of the DSP colors, I completed this card with Whisper White and Real Red.
  • Love You More.  Love you More is a stamp set introduced by Stampin’ Up! on December 1.  It’s time to start thinking about Valentines, right?  Well, this is an adorable and trendy stamp set that contains perfect images for adult greetings or Valentines for children.  Stampin’ Up! has introduced several new Valentine’s Day products, including some adorable.  If you would like to check out these items, CLICK HERE.
  • Centering on Polka Dot Paper.  I didn’t think through the entire construction of this card – I missed one important thing but decided to let it go.  When using polka dot paper, it’s impossible for a centered image to look perfectly centered.  The polka dots pattern generates staggered circles.  The eye wants one of these circles to be the center, but things just don’t line up that way.  In my as-of-late rebellious state, I decided to just go with the flow.  I had to eyball the paper when lining up my centerpiece and flags and just go with the flow.  It’s hard to be this carefree!  🙂  20131214-184751.jpg

Stamp Sets:  Love You More  Papers:  Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, 2014-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack, Real Read, Whisper White  Accessories:  Hearts a Flutter Framelits, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Bitty Banner Framelits, Candy Dots (Brights), Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  2. Ok, now I’m early on a Sunday morning but, I didn’t want to take a chance again being late to tell you that this card is really awesome. It’s never to early to think of Valentine’s Day and this card is a great example for it. Love the layers of Real Red, they really pop against the blue/green of the Costal Cabana, a real winner!!

Beautiful card as always Brian and a great reminder to me to get busy. I really like the new photopolymer stamp sets and the word LOVE is just gorgeous. We’re being snowed in today. It’s snowing like mad and right now there is about 18″ on the ground and it’s 2 degrees above zero. Just thought I’d give you another reason to love Georgia even more. LOL Have a wonderful day.
