Holiday One-for-One Swaps: Day Three

Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday.  With the surprise blog hop from three of my wonderful group members and all of your kind comments about my White-on-White card, it was really a special day for me.  With one exception.  I am home with the flu.  I have a lot of drugs from my primary care physician and will get through this ailment with a lot of sleep and liquids and sleep.  I’ll also get a lot of liquids.

For the past couple of weeks, I have been sharing cards that you sent me during my Holiday One-for-One Swaps.  It was simple – you send me a great holiday card, and I swap them around and mail them back out.  This is the last installment of cards, and I’m happy to share them.  Take them in, enjoy them.  Then, please leave comments for these talented artists to let them know how much you love their cards.20131207-184127.jpg

Cindy, the 3 Ho’s simple and cute, Maria so many elements to yours, Filz interesting to see our friends from oveaseas, Susan’s flip card so cute and love the colors, Sarsh great embossed snowflake, Jennifer the polka dot chalkboard background is cute and Santa’s bling makes him sparkle. Spectacular job everyone. Brian another great swap. Now get yourself in bed and follow your doctor’s orders! We need our KING to be healthy.

  7. Another round of beautiful, beautiful cards!! Brian’ one-for-one swaps really bring out our very best efforts! Feel better soon Brian!!

  8. All the cards are beautiful. I am especially attracted to the flip cards. I want to try these soon. But I must tell you about Carol’s card I received. The card is very pretty, cute, etc. but let me tell you about the card. She used 4 different papers with one being a core’dination paper, 5 different inks, 5 different stamp sets and 3 different embellishments. Folks, she made her “designer” paper, and created her own embossing design using the arrow in the thinlit label flip die set. Carol is a very talented cardmaker. Thanks so much for my card. It’s on display in my craft room along with the other cards I have received in a Brian King swap. Thanks Brian and hope you feel better soon.

Another set of stunning cards!! Thank you for sharing all of fhem!! Rest, relax, and sleep, & then repeat these 3 steps as often as needed!! I really hope you feel much better very soon Brian!!!!! 🙂

  10. Great selection of cards, Brian. Thanks for posting even though you must feel awful. Hope you feel better soon! Hugs 🙂

  11. This is an amazing group of cards! From whimsical to aged to glittery to elegant to multi-fancy fold (Maria, that is really cool), everyone really came through with an awesome design for this swap. Carol Blackwell, that arrow embossed paper idea really came from being in the “design zone”. Everyone of these cards is CASE worthy, so thanks for the ideas, everyone!

  12. Oh my Brian – The flu is NOT a good birthday present by any means! You better do as the doctor says because Christmas is just around the corner and you need to be totally feeling GREAT to enjoy. So, take your laptop if you feel you must do something, get in bed and relax and let your body mend itself.

The swap cards are amazing (as always). Every one of them is just beautiful and anyone that receives them will treasure them I’m sure. Fabulous job ladies.

  13. Oh Leah, I so love your monochromatic card, it has been sitting by my computer waiting for me to see it on Brian’s blog. One of my favorite things about Leah’s card is the lightly stamped Gorgeous Grunge background, I so love that set. Adding the Glimmer paper really adds a pop. Now it can go in my card room and keep me company while I stamp away. I also found it interesting that you received my card in the swap, thanks so much for all the lovely things you said about it. Brian get well soon and thank you for all the fun with the swap. All the cards have been wonderful, such fun!

  14. Another group of wonderful cards. What a group of talented Stampers! Merry Christmas to all!
Get well quickly, Brian. Drink, drink, drink, and sleep, sleep, sleep. Repeat as needed.

  15. I love all these cards. Can we get a tutorial re: how to do that fancy fold on Maria’s card? I’d really like to try it for a birthday card.

    • Hello Tania: I’m glad you liked my card. This fold is super easy and always looks real pretty. if you go to the Splitcoaststampers web site, you can see the video there, just click on the Tutorials link on the upper right side of the page and then, go to page 15 and look for the Double Dutch Fold, and you are there. First you’ll see the picture directions but, if you scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see the video. I hope you find it and give it a try.

  16. Beautiful cards — thanks so much for sharing your creativity and designs with all of us! The embossing, different styles, color combinations, & embellishments will be my inspiration for new cards to be made in 2014!

  17. Well, I finally got my swap card and it came all the way from France. This is the first EVER card I received from the other side of the World!!!!! It’s a sweet card, I love this image of Santa, very vintage so, thank you Filz Aurelly for sending it all the way from France. It took forever to get here, the mail has been slow at best around here but I’m glad it finally got to my mail box. I hope you enjoyed yours.

  18. I received the beautiful card made by Susan Kirk. I love the color combination and the glitter. Brian, thank you for taking the time to do this.

  19. Oh dear, Brian! So sorry to hear you are down with the flu! Ugh! Not a great birthday gift at all. Glad you are taking care of yourself.
Great, great cards! So many talented contributors!

  20. Get well soon Brian! Some amazing cards there – too many good ones to list individually, but Maria that’s amazing!

    • Thank you Vicki, I had fun making it. This fold is called “Double Dutch Fold” you can find it on Splitcoaststampers tutorial page, there are pictures and a video at the bottom of the page, or just Google it, it’s not hard at all to make.
