Pssst…CAS Card with Washi Tape

Don’t you love a good secret?  When you hear “pssst…” you might think you’re about to get the dish about the antics at Mrs. Webster’s dinner party last Tuesday – what a scandal!  In this case, though, I just want to grab your attention to say “thank you” with a clean and simple card.  The Paper Players are challenging us to make a Clean and Simple Project that uses Washi Tape.  I was excited to play around with it and find a new and unique way to use it.  I think I did that.  Here’s my card:

Happy Watercolor, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP192

And here’s the challenge banner for Nance’s CAS Washi Tape challenge:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Pssst.  Happy Watercolor has a fun pssst sentiment that can be paired with so many sentiments.  I haven’t used it yet, so I was excited to play around with it here.  I balanced the “pssst” and the “thank you” here by placing one on the top left and one on the bottom right – they frame the bright washi tape strips and flower.  Your eyes have to run over the tape to arrive at the concluding sentiment.  Yipee!
  • Washi Tape over Ribbon.  Who knew?  As I was playing around with my washi tape yesterday, I realized that the Coastal Cabana strip of washi tape fits nicely over the satin strip in the center of the 5/8″ Organza Ribbon.  Woo hoo!  That allowed me to layer the Coastal Cabana strip over the Tangerine Tango strip without one showing through the other.Happy Watercolor, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP192
  • Build-a-Flower.  I first created this flower on a post last month (see it here).  I just love the combination of the Petite Petals flower with the scallop from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a candy dot.  I added a Tangerine Tango candy dot to this flower to better coordinate with the Tangerine Tango washi tape.
