Hip Hip Hooray for Pals Paper Arts

Last week was the 200th challenge from The Pals Paper Arts.  That means that this week is the 201st challenge.  Woo hoo!  This week’s sketch was easy for me to pull together.  It all started with Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper.  The rest is history – maybe “history” is a little much.  Why don’t I just say “the rest happened” – I’ll just say that.  The rest happened.

Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

Hip Hip Hooray Kit, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PPA201And here’s the challenge banner by Nicole Watt:PPA201 April 24Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Painting the Stamp.  This stamp from the Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit is the perfect image for painting with a marker.  The image is intentionally rough (and I’m not great at painting on stamps with markers), so it’s perfect to hide my flaws.  Simply paint on, huff the stamp with a wet breath and stamp away.  Yipee!
  • A Tiny Border. When I layered the Circles Collection Framelit cutout over the 2-1/2″ Circle punch, a very thin border was created.  Nice!  I decided to repeat this thin border around some of the other elements on the card.
  • A Sketch Component Substitution.  Once I had all the components of this card completed, I couldn’t make the band to the left of the center piece work.  I tried, but no cigar.  I decided to pay homage to the left band by adding three Crushed Curry stars along the left of the center piece.  The sketch components are met – and the card is in balance.  Is there anything better in all the world?

Stamp Sets:  Hip Hip Hooray (from Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit)  Papers:  Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper  Inks:  Stampin’ Write Markers (Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry)  Accessories:  Floral Frames Collection Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over the The Pals Paper Arts to see the other projects by the Design Team.
