My Mom’s the Best (and a couple of Sneak Peeks)

I’m home!  I had the best time of my life on this past week’s incentive trip – what an amazing vacation!  While it was a perfect getaway (I’ll be sharing more about that this week), it was the exact amount of “away from home” for me.  By the end, I was ready to get home and spend some time in the Fungeon.  I’ve missed y’all, too, and will get through all of your comments and emails as soon as I get my suitcase unpacked.  🙂

Today, I am sharing a card I made for my Mom on Mother’s Day.  I didn’t share it yesterday because I knew I wouldn’t make it home until mid-day (Mom stayed at my house while I was gone), and I didn’t want to give away the surprise – she’s an avid blog reader.  🙂

Here’s Mom’s Mother’s Day card:

Something to Say, Just Sayin', Petite Petals, What's Your Type?, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

There’s a ton of great new product on this card, and I think you’re going to love all of it when you are able to buy it for yourself.  Here’s a quick rundown of the new items used n this card:

  • Flowers.  While you probably recognize that the large flowers are stamped with Petite Petals and punched with the Petite Petals punch, have you seen the smaller flowers?  They are from a WONDERFUL new set called Something to Say.  It’s a sentiment set with just a few shapes.  The set coordinates with a new punch pack called the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
  • Mossy Meadow.  Were you paying attention last Saturday when I shared the new In Colors (see that post here)?  If so, you were introduced to Mossy Meadow, a wonderfully rich shade of green in Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-2016 In Colors.  Love it!  Were you paying attention this past Saturday when I shared some great color combinations for these In Colors (see that post here)?  I really love Mossy Meadow with Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride.  That was my inspiration for this card.
  • What’s Your Type?  There are several great photopolymer sets in the upcoming Annual Catalog.  “What’s Your Type?” is a builder set with lots of great shapes that can be used to make bold alphabet letters or abstract patterns.  Here I used a solid “U” shape to build this flower-pot.  You’re going to love this set.

Stamp sets:  Something to Say, Just Sayin’, Petite Petals, What’s Your Type?  Papers:  Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Whisper White  Inks:  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink  Accessories:  Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Accessories Punch Pack, 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon (Blushing Bride), Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks for sticking with me while I’ve been away.  I’m so glad to be back and so happy that I’ll be able to crank out some new projects this week.  Woo hoo!

Well, first of all, WELCOME BACK HOME, BRIAN!!!!! I’m so happy you had a great time, you deserved some R&R, my dear, you work so hard.
Thank you for your daily blog posts while you were away, I don’t know how you did it but I’m glad you did, I don’t think I would have survived this past week without my daily dose of Brian King.
This past Saturday my Petite Petals punch finally arrived and I love it, the wait was awful but totally worth it. Your mom’s card is beautiful, love the bouquet of tiny flowers so I will be on the lookout for this other little punch in the new catty.
I want to also thank you for the One for One card swap, the sheer amount of cards you showed was an indication of how much fun this swaps are. I can only imagine your mailbox overflowing with them. I’m looking forward to the next which I think it might be the Holiday swap?
    Again, welcome home!!!!!

Oh Brian, you were surely missed, but my goodness, how were you able to out-do yourself in your absence with the continued DAILY blog posts??!!! If that makes sense, and is even possible, you certainly accomplished it!!!

I hope you had a phenomenal time on your tropical vacation!! I can hardly wait to hear, read, and see more about it!! I bet Bandit is doing backflips now that you are home!! 😉

  16. YA HOO !! Welcome back, Brian! So glad you had an awesome time, but we all knew you would. And you got to present too! Way to go! Your Mom’s card is just beautiful. I must admit, when I first saw the colors in my pre-order I thought… “they’re so much like what we already have”. You proved that theory wrong. I loved your take on the comparisons; thanks for that. I can’t wait to get started using the new colors. LOVE the Mossy Meadow….so rich and I think Blackberry Bliss is another favorite. Thanks again for all you do for us….we missed you, even though you posted every day.

  17. So many have already said this, but here is another….Oh my gosh, your Mother’s Day card rocks! Just awesome use of so many of the new products and beautiful layout 🙂
