It’s a big day! Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-2015 Annual Catalog will be open for business starting at noon today (MST) – have you made your list? Today’s project embraces a “something old, something new” theme – not only does it celebrate some wonderful new items from the new catalog, but it showcases some wonderful carryover items from last year’s catalog (also in the new catalog). The “something old, something new” theme also ties-in to the Wedded Bliss theme over at The Paper Players. Woo hoo! Here’s my project:
And here’s the challenge banner for Sandy Mathis’ challenge at The Paper Players:

Something Old
So, just what are the old items I featured in this card? I only call them “old” to fulfill the wedding adage – you can still get them brand new (they’ve just been available longer than some of these new sneak peeks). 🙂 Daydream Medallions, Floral Frames Framelits and Petite Pairs are my three featured oldies. So happy they are sticking around for this new catalog. If you don’t have these, you should definitely make the investment – starting today at noon.
Something New
The new items are worth a brief description – you’ll want to make sure you have these items on the order you place this afternoon. 🙂
- Blackberry Bliss. I had a quick chat with Lynn Kolcun (www.averysowlery.com) yesterday. Lynn is a member of my Stampin’ Up! group and has been very successful with making and selling specialty invitations. Lynn mentioned that purple is the “in” color for weddings this year. I’ve never been a purple person, but I’m really digging the richness of this 2014-2016 In Color. Don’t just take it from me – listen to Lynn.
- Park Lane Designer Series Paper. You know I love designer series papers, right? I’m at the edge of my seat every year to get my hands on all the new papers. I was fortunate to win a pack of Park Lane Designer Series Paper on the Incentive Trip and can’t seem to get enough of it. Warm browns, popping greens and this rich purple. If this paper isn’t on your list yet, go make some adjustments. 🙂
- 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. I love the ribbon for this year’s In Colors. It’s thin and smooth – you will want to just run your finger over it. That’s the beauty of a wonderful ribbon – it adds a lovely accent and a wonderful texture. In the interest of simplicity, I simply tied this ribbon in a small knot.
Stamp sets: Daydream Medallions, Petite Pairs Papers: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Park Place Designer Series Paper Inks: Blackberry Bliss Accessories: White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon (Blackberry Bliss), Floral Frames Framelits, 1″ Circle punch, Circles Collection Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

LOVE IT ! It´s my favorite colour ! I believe when you say it´s the IN colour this year – Stampin `Up didn`t chose these colours random ;). Park Lane…mh, need to take a close look …Thank you, Brian for sharing ! Greetings, Anita
Since my oldest daughter’s favorite color is purple, I always notice purple. I love the red hint in Blackberry Bliss. I’ve been wondering if a once-off stamp of that ink would make an orchid color.
About the purple weddings, my daughter’s wedding was purple! She might have been at the beginning of a trend, but she would have had purple no matter what. We had trouble finding purple in some of the things she wanted for decorations, which had made me think purple was on the way out. Maybe it was taking a breather and getting ready for a different shade of purple!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful card!
Absolutely beautiful.
We just went to a wedding two weeks ago and the color theme was purple! Your card would have been perfect. : )
Beautiful card … I love the new purple InColor!
The new ribbon also looks like a winner! Thanks, Brian,
for sharing the old and the new.
High marks for the beautiful card Brian! The deep purple color is fabulous and the DSP is fantastic! A winner all the way around.
Beautiful card! Very rich and classy. Our niece had a purple wedding this year and it was a gorgeous color to use. Park Lane was on my list already!!! Love it.
Thanks for sharing, Brian!

Gorgeous card! I love Blackberry Bliss and, I, too, know a bride that has chosen purple.
5.5 hours till we can order!! Happy New Catalog Day!!
What a beautiful card Brian. I have fallen in love with Blackberry Bliss and the Park Place DSP and I haven’t even seen them in person yet! I can’t wait to submit my first order from the new catalog but will have to be patient and wait another few weeks. I keep telling hubby that the longer I wait the longer my list gets. LOL
The first time I saw Blackberry Bliss, I thought I’ve fallen in love. It’s my favorite of the new colors along with Hello Honey. I’ve adjusted my list, per your instructions oh Ye of Impeccable taste, as I wait for 2:00PM. Brian, this card is stunning, it has a touch of nostalgia. Any bride and groom would love to receive it.
I have been battling computer troubles, but now it’s all fixed, thank goodness!!!!!
I’m falling in love more deeply each day with this gorgeous Raspberry Bliss. It’s so, so beautiful and in this card, simply so elegant. For what I can gather from several of the comments, a lot of us are swept of our feet by it.
Remember Donny and Marie Osmond’s “Deep Purple Dreams” ? this color makes me want to sing along.
Beautiful, Brian! I love the color purple…the color of AKC champion ribbons! Very clean and fresh…a perfect design! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players!
A beautiful and elegant card, Brian! I like your “something old, something new” theme and how perfectly the sentiment fits inside the medallion. Thanks for playing along with my challenge this week at The Paper Players!
