Three Things I Like…Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-2016 In Colors Edition

Boy, oh, boy, I have some great projects to share with you today!  Every once in a while I am happy to share projects made by my friends and fellow demonstrators.  I can’t show you all the wonderful mail I receive (there are just too many bags of mail!), but I can occasionally share some projects that really knock my socks off.

Today, I’m happy to share three “gifts” that I recently received from friends – all three of these coincidentally feature the 2014-2016 In Colors.  Woo hoo!

Grace Lange-Way

Over the past year-and-a-half, Grace has quickly elevated from one of my favorite customers to one of my favorite people.  She has a quick wit and always has a fun story to tell.  I recently mailed a small gift (in the form of Stampin’ Up! product) to Grace as a “thank you” for her loyalty and friendship.  This is the thank you note she sent me in return:

by Grace Lange-Way, Stampin' Up!, www.stampwithbrian.comHow lucky am I?  Very.  These In Colors work really well together (she’s included all of the   2014-2016 In Colors except Tangelo Twist).  The random placement of flowers makes for a nice backdrop on this card.  I really like how Grace covered a select few of the large flowers (stamped in Blackberry Bliss) with a sponged version of the same flower.

Sue Dyas

I was thrilled when I received Sue’s thank you note in the mail last week.  It was just after I created my FabFriday card with all five of the In Colors, so I was happy to see her “take” on the challenge.  I just love how clean and crisp this card is – even though she has built her card with many layers (you know how the layers of cardstock warm my heart, right?).  What a perfect layout to showcase all five of these gorgeous colors:

Sharon Walker

Sharon has been featured on my blog before.  For several years, she has participated in the Shoebox Swaps I’ve help host (the ones held a Pam’s Mom’s Subway shop).  Sharon has attended my stamp-a-stacks and events over the years.  Recently, she decided to join and become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and I couldn’t be happier to have her in my group.  Sharon came to my recent Open House and brought me this:

Bless you, Sharon.  Hahahahahaha!  Now Sharon is hosting her own events and has even started her own blog.  You can see some of her work on Sharon’s blog here.

Please let these ladies know how much you love their projects (well, I guess they are my projects now, right?).  I know they put a lot of energy into these gifts, and I appreciate them more than they will ever know.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Brian

  7. Oh my Brian – Sue’s card is Knock-Your-Socks off gorgeous and it looks like it was pretty time consuming to create. I just love it. I have to admit (blush, blush) that I have never been inspired by the In Colors until this year and boy, I just can’t seem to use this years in colors enough. I’m so glad I bought the ink refills to go along with the ink pads. I really love Sharon’s tissue box cover. I have a friend with a new grandchild on the way and there will be a baby shower. I can imagine one of these tissue box covers adorned with stamps from Something for Baby as shower keepsakes for the guests. Sharon did a fantastic job and I’m going to use the link you so thoughtfully left for us to see more of her work. Thanks Brian and thanks for featuring one of my cards and thank you to everyone for the lovely comments………I’m kind of blushing right now.

  12. Lucky you, Brian, these are wonderful projects!
But tell me, how do you store & organize all the great handmade cards you receive? I am struggling with that as I can’t bear to part with any of them!

    • That’s a really great question, Kristine! I have rented a storage space right off the interstate where I … just kidding. I started with a small plastic storage bin and have progressed to a medium-sized one. I find it hard to part with handmade cards I receive. I like to turn them around and share them with others (I receive a lot of cards with sticky notes inside so I can actually re-send them), but I still like to hold on to them. 🙂

  13. Wow! A great bundle of inspiration today!
