Well Worded Thanks

I adore Stampin’ Up!’s collection of stamp images, and I really dig Stampin’ Up!’s variety of incredible sentiments.  When the two of them are combined into one (like in Stampin’ Up!’s Well Worded stamp set) I’m in love!  Here’s a card I made with this stamp set:

Well Worded, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Dimensional Butterfly.  This butterfly fits perfectly inside this circle from the Circles Collection Framelits.  I stamped the butterfly in Night of Navy on the Whisper White cardstock and again with Tangerine Tango on a scrap of Whisper White.  I carefully snipped the orange butterfly out and layered it over the blue one, flicking the wings just a bit to create a shadow-effect beneath it.  Flick, flick.Well Worded, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Color Coordination.  Everything on this card (from the inks to the paper and twine) are inspired by the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper I used as the base.  How in the world did I know which papers and inks to use?  That’s a great question!  I simply referred to the back of my Designer Series Paper Swatch Book where the colors are conveniently listed for me.  If you would like to learn more about these books (I have them for sale), please click here.
  • Non-Traditional Card Size.  You already know I love a card that’s a non-traditional size – long and slender or short a fat.  Square, though, is my favorite.  I already know your question – yes, square cards cost more to mail, but that’s ONLY IF you mail the card in a square envelope.  Insert that square envelope into a large, rectangular envelope, and you’re good-to-go.  Also, if you hand-deliver your square card, it’s all the better, right?

  2. Good Morning Brian, what a great card. As I scrolled down and saw the DSP peeking out I actually said “Oh that’s nice” before I even saw the rest of the card. Well the rest of the card is just as nice. Love the colors, and the design. Have a great Sunday! 🙂

  3. Were you a hippy in a former life? I love it! That paper looks like a pair of bell-bottom pants I had back in the late 60’s . Of course, I was only a baby then…haha. Been following you for about a month. Don’t know what took me so long. Thanks for the inspiriation!
