Happy Halloween with Freshly Made Sketches

Don’t you just love it when a simple change of colors completely changes the way a stamp set can be used?  Two stamps are used in my card today – one is pretty specifically a Halloween set, while the other is an all-purpose stamp set that becomes a Halloween set when the right colors are added.  🙂  Here’s my project:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Mask, Ink Up, Unmask, Color, Huff, Stamp, Clean, Stamp, Snip, Glue.  It’s That Easy.  To create the oval, I masked the images above the word “Halloween” and stamped the image in Tangerine Tango (I used the masking technique I shared yesterday).  I then peeled away the tape and colored in the houses and trees with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I huffed the stamp and stamped it down.  I cleaned the stamp and then inked it up with Rich Razzleberry (just to get the “Happy” banner, which I snipped and added to the other images.
• Draw the Line + One.  The four black lines along the base of the card front are stamped  with Draw the Line.  The three rows of circles are also stamped using that set.  I inked up a pencil eraser to add color to the circles – I worked really hard to make sure they were imperfectly placed inside the circles (maybe I didn’t work THAT hard to stamp them imperfectly, but it was the look I was going for).
• A Halloween Color Combination.  I created another Halloween project yesterday that uses only orange, white and black – you’ll see that soon.  For this one, though, I added some fun by pulling in purple and green (Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive).  I think they belong in Halloween just as much as orange and black.  Feel free to save off his color combination if it also inspires you.
