Seeing Stars with Stampin’ Up!’s Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper

I’m guilty.  When I first received the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper, I thought, “this paper is so thick that it can only be used to make boxes.”  I immediately talked myself down from the opinion when I used the paper as the base for this card:

How adorable are these?  Just crop these stars with different sizes on the star framelits and pop up the small one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Add a banner and gold button, and you’ve made the perfect accent to a nicely wrapped gift.  Here are some of the gifts, wrapped in tea towels and wrapped with Cherry Cobbler ribbon:

  1. Love the “old-fashioned” look of the stars. (I’m just an old-fashioned girl!) 🙂

  2. Why is it two Pals in particular ,who shall remain nameless, always cause my “Gotta Have NOW” list to grow? I love the look of these stars so I guess I’ll be getting this paper after all. BTW, I have two list my “Wish List” and my “Gotta Have NOW” list and they both are long enough to get to Riverton.

  3. Yep…gotta get some of that heavier CS . From what I hear it is the best for the boxes that you make from the Gift Box Punch Board . So guess that goes on the list .
I like your typewriter card …especially the message .

  4. Oh my Brian. Those stars would be a great way to decorate one of the “Make A Wish” trees that we have at all the banks during the holidays. Underprivileged children are encouraged to take a star off the tree, write on the back something they would like to have for Christmas and put their name on it. Then deposit it in the “wish box” where volunteers then take the wishes and shop and deliver them to the children’s homes at Christmas. They are much sturdier than the regular card stock to there is a lot less chance they will get ripped. Thanks for sharing this fabulous idea!

  5. These are awesome stars and would be great tags for Christmas gifts. I’m impressed you itentified that your Founders Circle gifts were wrapped in tea towels. Men don’t know about tea towels, ha ha!

  6. I totally love the little typewriter, it reminds me of the ones I used when I was in school, Sheeesh!!;) Love the message for Santa, I think he already knows you’ve been very, very good this year.
